It will definitely fit in my pocket that's for sure, it's the same thickness as the Z3, just an extra 10mm or so in height.

I'm still on the fence though (pre-order still on though).

At present the Z5 has more pros for my kind of usage.
 
I'm not cancelling mine. If it's too big (doubt it. Been playing with a mates iPhone 6 plus and it's ok) then I'll sell it and get a smaller phone.
 
New talk online about the fast charging. Turns out it only needs 5v over 3A for fast charging, so looks like any power source that is capable of that will fast charge the 6P just fine.

Looking on Amazon, plenty of chargers for £10 or less for both mains and car sporting 3-3.4A over 5v output.

Looks like we could be in business people unless someone corrects me on this!
 
That's the gist of it anyway as they say the fast charging adheres to the Type-C standard. Assuming future phone models across the board adopt Type-C, then this "should" become standardised across said board too.

Qualcomm's QC2.0/3.0 is still better though as it's still faster, but Type-C's USB-PD will be more universal as it would be available from laptops with USB-C ports and the like, too.

It seems the charging source has to be compliant with USB Type-C, so it cannot simply be a USB charger that outputs 5v and 3A or more, it must be USB C compliant, so have a Type-C port and use a Type-C cable. So QC2.0 is the better fast charging technology at present as it's not dependant on cable or plug type, but instead just that both ends handshake via their QC2.0 ICs and negotiate the correct current and voltage to use.

I don't mind as much if it will be a new standard that others use. I usually own 3 or 4 phones at a time, so if I have to have specific charges for each one, we're going backwards.

Obviously, the 6P will need a different one now, but if all future phones use the same standard, then it's not so bad.
 
It's an assuntpion right now and I don't know what will be the standard considering right now Qualcomm Quick Charge is used as the go to standard across the board, and chargers supporting it exist in all markets at very low cost. It has been widely adopted for sure.

QC 2.0 also doesn't prefer any cable type over the other, which is the biggest selling point, hence the huff about why both Google and One Plus didn't enable it on their Type-C phones.

QC 3.0 is even faster, I'm pretty confident we will see that enabled on all 820 chipset devices next year.

For sure Type C fast charging will become one of the standard fast charging methods, but the way I'm seeing it is that when it does, and everything else has aType C port to use it via, the 6P will be old news :(

Ordered N6p 32gb black from Google store ,was tempted to buy from Carphone for a tenner less but return policy from Google seems better.

Anyone still not sure about size of phone, I've had the nexus 6 for about a year, and now I cannot go back to using a smaller phone .

So for me I hope Google continues making big phones !!!

Tempted to grab this later this month. What is the better option? Buying it outright at £449 then paying the likes of Three £17 per month for a rolling contract, or just signing up to an old school contract?

I'm currently on AYCE data (3G) with Three at £12 pm, but I had to splash out £579 for the Note 2. It was a good £200 cheaper after two years at the time, but now it seems the gap has narrowed? I don't really need AYCE data, but it's nice, so I'd say I'd need 5GB monthly.

It looks like a contract deal with 5GB data for a 2 year contract works out at about £850 overall. That works out about the same as buying the handset and paying for a sim only 4G deal.

Where have you found that? That works out at just under £18/month over 2 years which is very, very cheap for 5Gb with a high end handset!

How many hands on videos have I watched OMG I've ordered the white 6p one and one video it looks manageable then another video it looks HUGE :eek:

I love the spec I love the look I just hope the phone is OK size wise (fingers crossed)
 
The thing I've noticed with the hands on is that they all manage to unlock the phone with one hand without any finger acrobatics. Suggest the phone is generally OK 1 handed (as much as any phablet is)

Just think 6S Plus, go and try one of those in store, its practically identical. The 6p a touch taller, the 6S+ a touch thicker.

Thats what convinced me, I can handle a 6S Plus and Note 4 comfortably. The pull down on the Nexus also looks slightly lower, meaning it should be easier to handle than a 6S+.
