Obviously I know for some on here its a proper beige car, but my wife was hit in her Auris a few days back and they have written it off :(

with that in mind we need a sensible car for our growing family (one 2 year old and no.2 due christmas day!!)

I just want to find her something firstly safe as its shaken her up a bit and she isn't enjoying driving at the moment so needs good safety gear and visibility + must have enough space for the kids gumpf!

Found a 2006/7 1.6 Reference with 56k on for £2995, looks immaculate and we both like the shape for a fun bus!

Anyone own / driven one and can give some insight please?

Thanks in advance

Ben

P.S Obviously other options around the £3k mark with 50-60k miles all welcome

We have a Altea 2.0FSI sport that my wife uses as her car. Its been superb little family car in the 6 years we have had it. There's been a few little things go wrong but non have been a major issue and its pretty well designed and easy to work on. It fits the two kids in with the shopping pretty easily and its a nice drive too. Its a step up form the Fabia in terms of the interior quality but not as nice as the Golf.

I would certainly have another one, shame they only offered it in diesel towards the end.

Spacious, reliable, etc. Interior is nothing special but with kids I wouldn't worry about it. Perfect really.

Found a local garage with a sport 2.0 in this morning actually. might go and look later If I have time

The one yesterday sold us on the format of the car and the other half felt really safe in it. Unfortunately nowhere in the description from the garage did it mention "ripped drivers seat stitching and large stain on passenger seat....OH! and there are 4 visible dents on the drivers side!" :(

Btw, thanks for everyone for the replies in general

Ben

It did, at the top where it said it was a 9 year old Altea for 2995 from a dealer :p
