You may have noticed new forum has appeared (I know some of you have looked at it already :) ).

We have created a "forum disputes" section which you can see at the bottom of the "Life" forums (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=11).

Similar to the MM disputes forum, thread starters will only be able to see their own threads and not those of others, giving them the opportunity to speak directly to the moderating team (Dons and Admins).

This will be a place where people will be able to discuss moderating decisions and keep it off the forum.

As such people who feel they want to bring up either a complaint or just share a thought about the moderation of a certain item should be referred to this area of the forum. The rules will be amended to state than complaints regarding moderation will not be tolerated on the public side of the forums but should be address to the team in private. That said, you should feel free to be as open and frank as possible (without breaching the rules - i.e. insults and swearing). We ask that if you do have a complain that you post with respect and with a well presented argument rather than a rude rant. The whole team will be able to respond - it will not be a "ganging up" exercise, but an opportunity for us to share our reasoning and the interpretation of the rules as listed in the FAQs. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/faq.php

Hopefully this should alleviate tensions between certain members and the moderating team, and may drive improvements to the quality of posts and make this place an even better place than it currently is.

If you feel your issue is too sensitive to share with the team please do contact one of the Administrators (Commissarios) directly instead. However we do encourage you to share openly.

I hope you see these steps as a positive move to not only try and be more open with you but to try and minimise any possible misunderstandings. It gives you a chance to have your say in a more relaxed environment.

Please read the stickie at the top of the forum. Also please let us know if you have problems with that forum.

Will suspended members be able to post in that forum in order to complain about unfair moderating decisions?

Been plenty of those in the past, and until now you had to suck it up.

Can you change how it display the moderators of a sub forum?

Looks kinda weird having a huge space above and below the forum name because of all the moderators listed.

I can't see that section on my screen. Do you have to be above a certain post count to view/access it?

This is currently for members achieving MM status. We can still be contracted via email. However we will gauge how this is working first.

The large gap is because of the moderators having been added. Not sure if we can stop that gap. However I will have a look.

I've had many a sleepless night about the infraction I received for alluding to a well known meme.

The mod didn't know his memes and probably isn't even a real Admiral either.

Maybe I should file a strongly worded complaint.

I can't keep up with all these recent changes/additions, you Admins need to calm down, you're getting carried away with yourselves! :p

So only the users who have access to the MM can ask the mods (other than via e-mail) why their posts have been moderated?
Surely it would be the people with the lower post counts that would be more confused about their moderation.

I'm starting to get more and more fed up with this 1000 post requirement.

I doubt that's possible with the forum software we have.

You used to have moderation groups rather than set individual users in vBulletin. The group names then were displayed.

It has been a very long time since I've played with the software though so this may have changed.

From the last time I used vBulletin this was possible, I would assume the functionality has not been removed...

Ah! Ha! I knew the gangster thing was real!!

BTW if you make your browser really wide the 'gap' gets smaller.
