*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Urgh, Nightfall is Shield Brothers with Epic, Brawler, Chaff (no radar), Match Game (shields are resistant to unmatched elemental damage) and Exposure. Screw that. I'd get better loot from farming the normal Vanguard strikes using 3 of Coins each time.

Re Micro's, IF it's just kept to cosmetic items then I don't see it as an issue, it's a positive thing for all parties involved IMO.
If it happens for items that give an advantage then that's where it all goes wrong.

Managed to do first strike last night with some randoms, it was the one to kill the walker thing and the big eyeball. I got a blue item in the post, does it always give you them if you leave them behind at the event?

That's good, I usually panic when the timer starts ticking down that I didn't see something. I've ruled out hand cannons as a primary weapon, I seem to favour Auto's and Pulse.

Hand cannons are awesome if you get the right one. Fatebringer from the Vault of Glass raid was quite easily the most wanted Primary weapon in Year 1. I've moved onto Scout Rifles for Year 2 though, the Dead Orbit Scout I've bought is amazing. Currently got it at 308 attack and it wrecks everything.

Yeah I'm just about getting near weapons with 50 attack lol. I would like them if I wasn't so bad at console FPS but autos and pulses are kinder to my lack of aim.

I've got a Hung Jury as well, and I adore it. Would like another hand cannon again however. Are there any Y2 elemental hand-cannons, or would I be better infusing Hawkmoon to 300+?

The only elemental primary that I know of is the Zhalo Supercell. I'd imagine the hard mode raid will drop some elemental primaries though, whenever it's released.

If you want a good legendary hand cannon I believe the Imago Loop, a strike specific drop is worth getting. It can drop with perks that make it a mini Fatebringer, so it's possibly worth farming for if that's your kind of gun. I think it can drop from the Undying Mind and Echo Chamber strikes.

The Ace of Spades *Hunter only* is also a decent Hand cannon. Drops as part of the Rank 3 Gunsmith "quest".

Comes with Third Eye, Firefly and a perk which automatically adds a round (from reserve)on a precision kill. In theory you never have to reload it against red bar mobs.

TBH I have found myself only using Hand Cannons when I want to just mess about. Any "serious" content I do with by Pulse / Scout or even Auto rifles now. I love my Raid pulse (forget the name) with firefly. It hits like a truck and is so easy to get crits with (thus Firefly processed a lot of the time).

Except that it's a Hunter specific weapon so only useful for them.

Still pricer (Hunter sniper) is a solid sniper for Curcible, sights are weird but once your used too them you can get some insane kills. Also has a really nice sound too it.

That'd be one hell of a step if Activision replaced paid for DLC with micro-transactions. I expect these to sit side by side, merrily bringing in the money money moneeeeeeyy.

But yes, I do want the slow clap..

I think this is the way they are trying to take it, instead of paying for expansions like Dark Below etc, they'd deliver quests/missions/strikes etc, for free every now and again.

Instead of releasing paid expansions like The Dark Below and House of Wolves, said Kotaku, Activision and Bungie will deliver new quests and missions for free — likely in "big drops every few months until the fall of 2016," when a full sequel to Destiny will arrive for $59.99.

I don't know how reliable their sources are though mind you, but it would make sense given this announcement.

Interesting, I guess it depends on how successful the transactions are but a move to that model would definitely suit me.

Let's be honest, if the emotes are something like 99p each, you'd imagine people would buy them every now and then if they had spare cash sitting in their PSN/XBL account. If Bungie release more and more emotes over time, you'd likely find people would buy a load without really realising it.

I don't think Bungie will be releasing full DLC for free, even if microtransactions take off, but I wouldn't be surprised if the price was a little lower as a result. I know Activision are known for being greedy, but lower priced DLC will sell better and possibly bring in more money overall.

I'll be very happy if that turns out to be true but just can't see it.

Anyone had much luck with the strike specific legendaries? I was trying to get the funky titan helm from Sunless Cell on lunch, did about 7 runs and no luck. Good for ToC and engram farming though as it only takes 10 minutes.
