Microsoft Launch Event - 6/10 @ 15:00 BST

jesus. that book is simply amazing.

but wait a second! is the dedicated GPU and extra battery inside the keboard itself and the cpu along with a simple intergrated gpu inside the actual screen/tablet thing!

TAKE MY ****ING MONEY!!!

Literally the best laptop in the world. Incredible engineering and implementation.

It is a stunning piece of kit and wipes the others into insignificance! I want badly!!!

I came here for the Surface Pro 4... But now I want the Surface Book! Why are you doing this Microsoft, I can only spend so much!

Only one thing they left of the book and that's kickstand, kickstand is so important on a tablet, or at least it is for me.

Just need store to update now. Not that I'm going to spend money today, but maybe in 4 weeks. Got lots if over time this month.

So I have a desktop with a Athlon II x4 640 and a 6950 in it.

I'm guessing this thing could blow that away as a desktop (hooked up to a monitor, keyboard, mouse), as well as be a laptop (obviously) and a tablet (sweet)??

Blow it to kingdom come and back 10times over, not even in the same ball park, or even same city. At least on CPU aide, and probably not in same ballpark gpu side.

Thinking about the Surface Book, I assume the SSD needs to all be in the screen, otherwise you would lose half your storage when you disconnect it.

So CPU with onboard Intel Graphics, SSD and battery in the screen, and then additional battery and a stand alone nVidia GPU in the keyboard?

Yep it appears to be surface pro 4 more or less, then battery, gpu and possibly a second CPU in base. He did say 2xcpu but he wasn't that clear or I wasn't paying attention.

Come on store update. Want to see full specs.

If we go for a straight $ exchange then Surface Book starts at £985. Need to see all the specs/options.

Looking at the internals in the video the Book's battery in the screen looks tiny, so the battery life will probably depend on the keyboard dock more. I'll probably go for the SP4 in that case as my main use is a tablet (I hardly use my laptop but I do find it handy every now and then). Looks like both will use Iris Graphics if the videos are true, so the Intel IGP should pack a good punch as well.
