Forum "Disputes"

I welcome the new section as the amount of hounding on here is terrible! A few really get the knives out on a continual basis! At least this way they can hopefully be monitored and reported in the new section.

I was wondering what had happened to him.... it seems they've managed to increase the signal to noise ratio of another sometimes problematic poster through 'moderated posting' - could that be a solution to allow Theo back too?

lol who was that?

I do think some people just don't like being reprimanded and that is a flaw in their character rather than a reflection on the forum moderator team being 'badmins'.

Same goes for some of the mods. As soon as you challenge them they throw their toys out of the pram.

Still, life goes on.

Sorry to revive a old thread but would it be possible to open the forum disputes section for public viewing with no ability to post unless you have created the thread?

I don't think it would be a bad move. Provided the moderators were fair with their actions. All it would do is highlight the baduns within the community?

Some people may not want their threads to be publicly visible. This gives people the ability to chat to the mod team in private.

I think it works better this way?

I think it would work better if it was open - ditto to when threads get closed, why not just have the mod that closed the thread put a one line comment in stating why.

What one person thinks is a bad un can be seen as a gud un by others so I don't see the point.
Some posters take things to heart where others like myself don't give a toss what anybody says about me (although I will dangle my fishing line sometimes and make it appear as though I'm bothered).

Iditto to when threads get closed, why not just have the mod that closed the thread put a one line comment in stating why.

This was supposed to happen at one point and probably did happen for about 7 threads then stopped.
I remember comments in yellow such as I've asked you to behave and you haven't so I've closed the thread

Wouldn't PM's not simply deal with that?

If someone is feeling generally aggrieved by moderation then I see nothing wrong with putting it out for public scrutiny.

Samething with complaining about anything really. Some people will deal only with the people involved whilst others will put it on the net etc for the world to see.

You are welcome to highlight baduns by RTMing their posts. :)

You could argue the same about the moderation. At least this way the public can see both sides of a genuine aggrievment and form there own conclusions. We are after all entitled to our own opinion.
