Star Wars Battlefront Beta GFX benchmarks.

I dont trust Any websites benchmarks anymore. Always wait for the OCUK benchmark thread. Really websites should do the same and just use our results lol.

Stock I'd bet, then add over-clock & the 980ti shoots past!.

I disagree with this saying. Not everyone overclocks there hardware you know. a lot of gamers out there run stock.

We all know overclocking gives you extra performance but this isn't the point when you taking in the mainstream audience.

This game looks Fury friendly! Nice scaling overall I have to say.

I agree for lower end hardware, but to pay £500 for a graphics card then run it at stock (when you can easily get 15% extra out of it or more) is madness tbh. My two reference 980ti card run @ 1450 in SLI without touching any volts at all. While I don't expect many to go to bias flashing & water-cooling like I did to push it to 1500+ a vast majority will hit 1400 with little trouble.

£500 is enthusiast level gear.

Looking good for both camps to be honest.
:)

It does look great, but after getting stung with other preorders I'm awaiting reviews and friends recommendations before spending my moolah. I'll give the beta a good go though. :D

Yet again, Maxwell has less performance per Mhz, so a 980 at like 1500MHz is about the same as a 290X at 1200MHz.

Also as said above, not everyone buys a GPU and rags it.
I'd wager many do who are running at 4k, which is the only resolution it pulls past.

I'm pleased the fury X is doing well mind, just pointing out that for a majority of 4k gamers it's unlikely to translate to being a better purchase (yet), but excellent for those running at stock.

Am just not sure mate. When you have the avg Joe buying 980ti or FURYX am sure they be perfect happy with performance already. 15% wouldn't mean much to them.

But someone running older hardware would have more excuse to try and get more performance from there GPU..

I buy latest amd GPUs past couple years and I don't overclock am sure am not alone.

For me stock results tell a bigger picture. I wish we would have more people on here posting stock results.

I have a pair of 290X's that I run at 1140MHz 24/7 and they run 4K 60fps with no issues at all and cost me less than what a 980Ti costs and annihilates it. But of course with that comes issues with Crossfire, but I haven't personally had much issues with apart from Elite: Dangerous (Matt or Joe take note).

Both my HG10 cooled 290X ref. card and 290X Lightning will do 1200 with the Lightning capping out at 1250

Looking at the name of the forum and wondering why the "stock results" gang are banging the drum again
:D I did think that myself a little.

I totally would agree on a dell forum, but enthusiasts usually try to get at least a little extra out of the hardware.

Either way, performance looks good for card of the top tier cards for AMD & team green which is only a good thing.

What about Far Cry 4, Witcher 3, Project Cars, Total War - Atilla, GTA V, Dragon Age Inquisition (basically very demanding games).

15% ? Buga I bought the wrong brand...

Same here I run a stock clock rig. I buy highish end so I don't have the hassle of performance issues (Yes I know there's a joke in there somewhere).

EDIT:

In the review on the last page when they show vram usage they only show Nvidia. Why not any AMD? I wanted to see HBM numbers especially.

Good to see AMD holding their own in this but I can see a big gap when overclocking is introduced. Good frames all round though and good performance figures.

The thing with most benchmarks these days is they are a bit useless with Maxwell GPU's running at completely random speeds

You look at them and you just don't know if what you are seeing is them running at 1114Mhz or 1200Mhz or 1350Mhz, if its the later there isn't a lot of head room in them at all, 1350Mhz + 10% is 1485Mhz already.

Good results for all tho :)
Apart from the GTX 960, Good Grief... its like a HD 7850

They is also a lot people that overclock for benchmarks but run games completely stock..
I would base 80% of the pc gaming master race to run stock on there GPUs Yeah made up number but I bet am not far off.
