Toddler's head re-attached to spine

Well if you believe in religion or not that's gotta go down as a miracle ;)

Life is so fickle, young lad survives and accident that should by all rights killed him, other people die in circumstances when you would have thought they would have lived.

Obviously it wasn't "his time to go".

I can't watch the video but does the report mention what type of car seat the kid was sitting in? Was it front or rear facing? I know that with rear facing seats in frontal impacts it severely reduces the chances of child injury as the seat helps prevent the head whipping forward, reduces the forces of rapid deceleration and spreads that force out around the seat, rather than leaving it up to the seatbelt.

Agreed. My nieces are at an age were they don't need child seats now, but if I was ever to have my own kids it would be rear facing seats only. Just common sense to use them over front facing.

My two lads will be rear facing until they are at least 5. I really don't understand why there is a huge reluctance to endorse and promote extended rear facing in the UK.

:D

you've gotta ask - why didn't the Lord let this happen before now? Wasn't very nice of him to just sit and watch as previous toddlers had this issue

Or indeed, simply intervene to prevent the accident in the first place.

But yeah, misleading headline. They didn't reattach his head, they fixed a broken neck, a thing made possible by the extraordinary luck of the spinal cord remaining intact despite the breakage.

It is wonderful what modern technology can do. So delighted to see this little guy will make a full recovery. :)

I have a son who will be 3 in Dec, he himself only exists because of modern science as he was conceived through ICSI. I had testicular cancer years ago that played havoc with the old sperm count. He is hard work but I can't imagine life without him :)
