Star Wars Battlefront Beta GFX benchmarks.

Well, it seems at this stage, the empire always wins the Hoth battle. I would just have Luke as a hero option and drop Vader. There were seven of us surrounding him blasting away and he just cut through us.
My 290 still doing a stella job on 1080p which is good news.

I played a couple of games and we did win one as the rebels. No idea how though since I got killed over 30 times and got 7 kills :eek: the empire does seem to be much stronger though. The walkers are powerful and the rebels only have some X and Y wings. Also the rebels darker costumes can be easily spotted in the white snow background while the empire's white armor is almost camouflaged.

It would have been called 'Battlefield: Star Wars' if that was the case.

I think the biggest problem (on this forum at least) seems to be that most people assumed the same as you - That it would be Battlefield.

In fact, it's a (very good) continuation of the Battlefront series from 2004/2005

Yep some people were saying it was just going to be Battlefield 4 with a Star Wars skin like we were going to get conned. Now that's not the case it's a bad thing :D :D.

It's hard to please people these days especially us long time gamers as we have seen and played everything so games always feel like the same gameplay with a different setting.
 
Seems to have SLI support now :). Plays very well with my 980Ti's 144hz 1440p maxed out. Running around 120-144hz but with only 90 odd % maxed out usage though? (probably driver as havent updated it yet)

Only problem for me is either my internet but just played two rounds one on the new map and one on the at, at map and both servers were super laggy. Got stuck jumping over a hill then warped back several times, went into tower then warped back and someone else stole it :(.

So far seems good, new map and new long rifle is pretty good. I would like to see some more weapon unlocks and attachments to match though.

Don't get me wrong I don't want it to be exactly like battlefield but I'd like if it played like battlefield if you get what I mean e.g being able to just hop into vehicles littered around the map and not have any random pickups etc.
 
I was starting to like the game last night, need to do some key remapping (3 being boost jump is daft) and get used to the minimal recoil but not bad. The one thing grating on me is the aim zoom replacing ADS, most if not all of the rifles have scopes/sights, use them and use them properly.

Game has potential, but a beta should have arrived months sooner to give them chance of changing things from public feedback.

At least it's not hard line I suppose.

Yes the vehicles is something I think would make a big difference. When I played I couldn't find one vehicle I could get into and have no idea where they are.:confused:

I also miss the droid faction from Battlefront 2. Is there any plans for them?

You don't even need to ADS to get the most accurate shot now, there is no difference between ADS/zoom and hip fire lol.... just hip fire people across the map instead, in fact if you do ADS/zoom, you are just putting yourself at a disadvantage now :rolleyes:

As for feedback, they didn't listen to a single bit of feedback for the alpha that the majority of us give, so they ain't going to listen to us about the beta either regardless of how long ago it was released, if they listened to what the alpha players suggested, the hoth map/game mode would have been ten times better.

I would actually say that hardline is better than this, even with the insta TTK, OP k10/m416, it has a much larger skill ceiling than this game, which is centred towards the COD console community.

played the game for a few hours yesterday - first impressions of the graphics & sound were really positive but unfortunately the gameplay is just too random to take seriously. I really wish it was properly class based. The random powerup system is awful...

Vehicles are the spinning powerup things you see on the Battlefield. You pick it up and then deploy and you suddenly spawn in a vehicle.

We really don't know if the "beta" comes with everything to enable full settings. Usually we can select the options but it might not be the case that all the assets are included to make them function.

I hope x4 MSAA is in the final build.
 
From what I've seen so far it looks like even a 'good' pc will get double the pixels, double the framerate at higher image quality than the consoles, interesting
 
I hope they add in DX12/Vulkan like has been rumoured :)

I don't think the game even needs dx12 at or at least up till this point. The terrain is using a photo realistic terrain mask or something like that. I'm guessing that that's why the game is not very hard to run. We cannot interact with anything on the map except the items that are crucial to the game. It's like a telltale game only fps in a way.

You don't need it if you have a capable CPU and GPU.

With DX12/Vulkan you can get more performance for less, or more game for the same hardware.

There is an unfinished DX12 render path already!
Create a file named User.cfg into your game folder and add "Render.Dx12Enable 1" without " into the new created User.cfg
Your game will most likely experience heavy artefacts and errors until your driver crashes. Still it proves this line does something to your game.
The line "Render.Dx11Enable" does exist and work in BF4 as well, so no magic used here.
 
It was announced that DICE would be including support for the Mantle API in Frostbite 3, with Battlefield 4 being the first game to implement the low-level toolset through a patch in December 2013.

Something close to metal is baked into the game so converting that to dx12 seems a logical conclusion. On the other hand, I wonder if you could enable Mantle?
