I wouldn't say that, she is know where near as famous as other female sports such as Maria Sharpova or Serena Williams. In just UK sports stars she can't touch someone like Jessica Ennis.

Not to be a **** here but I've literally never heard of them whereas I can't go a day without hearing / seeing something revolving around ronda in some way or form.

Though "social circles" could impact this I imagine.

Those names might be well known but Rousey is far more likely to come up in conversation for most people, even in the UK.

My point being that unless you watched the Olympics plenty of people wouldn't have a clue who Ennis is, she'd just be a name that's heard occasionally on TV then forgotten instantly. Whereas Rousey is a current topic of conversation, all over the media for her sport, on pretty much every late night talk show and not to mention being in one of the highest grossing films of all time this year.

It's really not that hard of a stretch for people to know who she is yet not know Ennis or Williams, especially with the way the world revolves around social media these days.

Just to clarify no i didn't watch the olymics, in fact i loathe the event. I mean sure is it great to being country's to get country's together to compete yeah of course it is. Does it need to cost 15billion pounds that could go to much more important causes ie cancer research/help for Heros/children in need to list a few. For this reason I dislike the event.

Yeah right lol, she was the poster girl for the whole Olympics. She was everywhere you looked for months and then after doing very well was everywhere on tv and radio for more months then to top that off started doing adverts on tv.

Your head would have to be buried in the sand for close to a year.
