intel g3258 with GTX 980 ti

might be ok since you can get away with running 2 high end graphics cards on a quad core cpu, not entirely sure though,
I guess it would depend largely on how many cpu cycles are used for the physics etc

Currently playing on 1080p. It's a beast of a CPU and haven't had any problems with any game so far, except Dying light, which may or may not be CPU related.

You can't pair a 980Ti with a G3258, it's against the laws of Geekdom.[/QUOTE]

Favorite answer! Looks like I'm getting a new processor. Thanks for the replies!

I run a 980ti at 1080 144htz seems the perfect match to push the frame rate with no dips but can agree for 60htz 390 is the better card.

Another person spending £500 for 1080P £80 monitor resolution? WTFBBQ?

Yeah, its absolutely crazy. Anyone buying more than a 390/970 for 1080p (especially 60 hz) is just completely crazy. Although I guess it doesnt help when someone asks "what GPU should I buy, I have £500" and almost everyone just says "980Ti is the way to go no other choice!" regardless of what they are playing at.

Budget of does not mean I want to spend this much, its their maximum

My i5-3450 was just about coping with a 980Ti, noticed a lot better gameplay with a 5820k though.

I wouldn't dare use it with a dual core.

No it isnt. A 980ti (or fury x) is the only card that can max everything at 1080p in every game and get 60fps+.

Agreed, nothing wrong with a 980 Ti for 1080P, allows max settings and FPS. Plus room to upgrade screen to 1440P later on and still get good performance.

Price wise, GTX 970 / GTX 980 Ti are the best from Nvidia's whole stack in terms of performance VS price. 980 Ti makes sense tbh.
