The reality is that it'll be just like applying for a job since they made employers check an applicant's eligibility to work i.e. everyone wanting to rent will have to present a passport (and visa if applicable) to prove their entitlement to live in this country.

cos like the majority of tory voters they foam at the mouth at anyone who disagrees with them.

This literally is the most retarded policy ever and is setting back equality 50 years as landlords will now discriminate so they don't have to do the work E.g two perspective family renters, Mr & Mrs Smith and Mr & Mrs Singh, landlord thinks I've got to do that passport check thing, I cba just go with the smiths, yet both families are british.

First point, I've think you have the party's mixed up show me a group of tory voters spitting and throwing eggs on Labour supporters / Unionists.

Labour attracts some ******s a lot more than any other party I'd say.

So what who cares? The landlord can and should be able to pick who he wants in that house but I think it says more about your mindset because it didn't even cross my mind.

You do realise id checking for landlords is standard procedure yes? You need to know who you are dealing with regardless of how the customer looks.

Carry on with the persecution complex though.

I thought the proposed bill applied to everyone renting rather than just those that "look a bit foreign". So in MrMoonX's example Mr and Mrs Smith would also need an ID check?

The idea is to show a "Multicultural Britain" 'n that's fine, we are a Multicultural county.

The problem is everytime there is a debate about multiculturalism the left wing of media react by ratcheting up multiculturalism in the most popular TV shows in some woolly hat thinking that people will feel warm and fuzzy about people in hijabs.

In reality those with a problem with it get even more upset about it because now its "invading the TV" and those with no opinion on it at all start to get sick of it being thrust in their face constantly and start to take a negative view.

Yes, an over active agenda can and does make people take a negative view.
