Stoptober

Just get it done! I gave up 3 months ago and still off it. The gum worked for me , but it is disgusting.

Its hard but you'll feel 100% better by week 4

This is another reason to quit smoking forever.

Hilarious clip, poor Japanese guy burned his house down while live streaming on twitch. Never ever play with matches!

Nicotine is more addictive then heroin. Its also just as lethal if taken directly. If you want motivation, look up some pictures of a smokers lung and it resembles a burnt down forest

Last fag was 22:10 last night. I am vaping though, not sure I could go cold turkey.
yea you got it bad

I smoked for 20 years till the end of Sep. I don't think vaping is really quittig if you're still getting the nicotine. They say nicotine is harmless, and it largely is. There are still negative effects though. I think any sort of NRT is ok as long as you are gradually toning it down into nothing and not going for a long term replacement for smoking.

- its still a vasoconstricting chemical.
- its still an appetite supressant.
- you'll probably end up taking in more nicotine vaping than on 20 a day to begin with.

I use the nicotine sprays. But im gradually decreasing the 'sprays per day' down to nothing with and aim to be free from nicotine by the end of October.

My problem was I always enjoyed a smoke when I was down the pub with the lads. The sprays aint a substitute for it, and never will be. Neither is vaping really. You're still addicted to a substance.

How's everyone who bothered with this doing?

Story time? Story time.

I ended up with food poisoning on Saturday morning. Or my body finally said "ENOUGH" to my diet of cigarettes and coffee. Had my morning coffee and cigarette on Saturday and felt nausea. You know when you put your foot in a silty pond or river? That's kinda what the inside of my stomach felt like. So anyway, I spent Saturday blowing out both ends. Spent Sunday in bed delirious and sweating uncontrollably and shaking. Apparently the missus walked into the spare bedroom (to which I was relegated) to see how I was doing when I exclaimed "I DON'T WANNA GO TO SCHOOL" and started sobbing. I can't remember. Monday to last night I couldn't even bring myself to think about having a cigarette, let alone actually have one. So I was off them for a week completely unintentionally. Rolled a smoke last night, took three draws and said "that is ****ing rotten" threw it down, stamped it out and went back inside. The only reason I even bothered with attempting to smoke last night was boredom.

So, aside from three draws on a quick rolly last night I have cut down from smoking nearly 20 roll ups a day to nothing. No patches. No vaping. Just good old fashioned food poisoning.... I have no intention of starting going full time again. Will probably still smoke cigars though on the odd occasion. Everything in moderation and all that.

Actually that's not correct (Nicotine has a decency rating of 2.82 whereas heroin is 2.89), but that aside caffeine is thought top be as addictive as amphetamines and can also kill you if taken in a pure/great enough quantity.

.bet you still drink tea and coffee though.

Surely you give up smoking to avoid the known diseases associated with it and the proven health impacts of inhaling the by-product of burning tobacco, not because of some kind of disappointment about "being addicted" to something.

Besides, I'm sure you don't worry about being addicted to caffeine which is statistically probable. Try giving up all forms of caffeine, you'll likely find after a couple of days you'll start to feel the withdrawal effects (trust me I tried it once).

Tea has more caffine then coffee. But you have to eat it for that to be true, so no I dont and yes I do :D Depends how the real life factors pan out, some smoke and get lucky their whole lives but most dont

will be 4 weeks on Monday without smoking for me.
I do vape now though so not completely free yet.
Drinking (alcohol) is something I can live without, don't get me wrong..I enjoy a booze up now and then but it's rare that I go out boozing.
I do drink around 3 gallons of tea per day though.
