Are tattoos passé yet?

Why do other peoples tattoos bother you so much especially when you've got your own? or is it because you have one you don't think others should so you can indeed be the

Just for once I'd like to meet people who are so independent, so unique and so rebellious.

Thing is, if tattoos are all perfectly fine and cool, why not get your face tattoo'd? You're just conforming to society and its rules by not doing so.

I've got nothing against tattoo's (don't have any though) but I had to do double take a while back in the supermarket, this guy walked by me - fairly short, bald head and he had blue ink 'writing' tattoo's - in a small italic font covering his entire head

I mean neck, face, forehead, cranium... the entire lot.....I just stood there trying not to stare...and failed :p

I also know a few people with some tattooing on their face, the tear drop, a star or two or ones under the hair line which show when they have a shaved head etc, but nothing like this one

Because not everyone wants their face tattoo'd...

OP people have to look at your face, what if I don't like your mug will you cover it up?

I nearly got a tribal dragon tattoo on my skinny 16 year old arm. I can't begin to tell you how glad I am that I never got it. I don't want a tattoo any more. They are far too common and way too many people get them just because it's fashionable and they think it makes them look cool instead of getting ones with any real meaning.

The only thing that annoys me is when people list one of their "interests" or "hobbies" as tattoos. Look, unless you're a tattooist or you're getting new tattoos weekly, that is an absurd thing to be interested in.

For me it's a red flag which says "this person has no personality".

Why? Do you think the same of people who list art as an interest?

Sounds like a man who respects his art above all else including society's rules /respect.

I don't mind tattoos really, but the content/design may do. Not trying to be a special *********, but having a generic run-of-the-mill tattoo for the sake of having a tattoo to me is pointless, e.g. various scripts/seemingly random text in foreign language, hearts/stars/traditional "girly" symbols, celtic knot, infinity symbol, crosses, tribal, roses/flowers in general, etc. Hopefully you get the idea. I can appreciate a well though out and designed tattoo, "body art", that actually has a unique meaning to somebody.

There's Tattoo..

And Tattoo...

People being offended by tattoos on strangers does not compute.

The OP complaining about tattoos whilst having one sums this thread up tbh.
