Cool master 212x not fitting?

Hi people. I picked up a new cool master 212x, because my old phenom 2 was just a tad noisy while running the new dragon age. The catch is I can't get it to fit.

The screws supplied won't fit the holes that the motherboard (and case?) have - they appear to be 0.5mm t0o big. Any ideas?

Case: Coolermaster Elite 334 Midi Case - Black
MB: Asus M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

Apologies for the delay - I've been a bit ill and distracted.

Am actually considering an alternate plan - that is, get a new case, skylake i5 etc. The cooler was a hassle free alternative to upgrading, and, well...

Anyway, would you be able to suggest a case which should fit the thing sanely? Better yet if you sold it with noise dampening built in...
