I miss my Microsoft Intellimouse Optical

The Avior is suppose to be a top 3010 mouse. I don't think you will be disappointed with its performance or build quality.

Other things might not be so good. Weight, ergonomics, sensor lag (apparently it is a thing). You'll know when it arrives.

Finalmouse is hoping to revive the old Microsoft mice. Very light, wide and full size (instead of the skinny mice being peddled nowadays), the sharpest sensor feel, well balanced. I have a FM2015SE. It's far from being THE final mouse, but it's still my main driver. The new model looks more promising with better ergonomics.

How hard is it bring a couple of £15 mice (WMO, IMO) back to market, with updated components... Well, very hard, it appears.

ME. I have it and it's a love hate relationship.

It feels great in my hand, my grip is like a claw with the base of my palm resting on the mouse mat whilst I control the mouse with my pinky and thumb. This mouse fits bang on the money for such a style. Unfortunately it sometimes throws a wobbly and just skyrockets off way to fast when playing games, making accuracy difficult. When it's behaving itself it's really good though and snapping in CSGO is a breeze with it.

I've tried it on several gaming surfaces including the official SteelSeries Hard mat and it's still not great. I prefer cloth mats and I use a high friction mat when poss so I don't if the laser in this mouse has issues with that.

I bought a Logitech Proteus Core and loved the sensor, it was so silky smooth but the massive build of the mouse just felt cumbersome and didn't suit my strange gripping style, so back it went.
I also have a Deathadder 2013 and the sensor feels nice in that too but again it doesn't suit my grip style.
So, now on the base of your thread I too have ordered a Mionix Avior. Let's hope it fits the need I have of it!

If it was an Intellimouse 1.1 (these were awesome mice at the time).

Then a Steelseries Kinzu v2 is very similar, this is what I use in work.

13 odd years with a 1.1

Swapped out for a steel series last year when my last 1.1 gave up the ghost. You can still source them for a price, get lucky on auction, or find Chinese knock offs from the bay.

happy with the sensei, though I don't really game these days.

Avior SK arrived, it's really nice :)

Very comfortable and sensor seems good, only at work at the moment so won't know how it is in games yet.

Bit disappointed that I ordered a brand new mouse and the pads on this one look worn though! (not from here I might add!)

Cheers,

G

I use a steelseries raw. Very light but very comfortable and has that intellimouse simplicity that I like.

Does anyone with the Avior 7000 find that the scroll wheen is hard to click? I use that as jump in game so may find that a deal breaker.

I find that too, I'm finding it takes more pressure on all the buttons to press them correctly, but boy, what a satisfying feel when you do ! The middle button/scroll wheel is a little too far forward to my taste as well. Also the shape is uncomfortable on my left hand side of my palm just below my pinkie. However, I've persevered and now growing used to that feel which is now feeling normal and not so uncomfortable.
As for the tracking and fluidity of the actual movement...it's gorgeous. I'm in love with it. Apart from the pain it gives me.

So... I emailed Mionix about the fact that the feet on the mouse don't seem new because I wanted to ask them if they are worn through rigorous testing or if I may have been sent a second had one from the supplier by accident. (before I moaned at the French Jungle Retailer)

They already replied saying they will just send me some new mouse feet!

How awesome is that! I didn't even buy it from them directly.

Fantastic customer service right there.

Saves me the ballache of sending it back to France too! Well happy with that!

Cheers,

G

I find the mouse wheel is the perfect place for me, but then I have a very unusual grip because I'm a lefty but still use the left click as my primary button:

Would say its just a matter of your finger muscles getting used to it. Had same issues on logitech mice using metal wheel. Tho the wheel click on my avior SK broke after a few months. Not RMA'd it yet as i brought a zowie fk1 instead.

Is there a reason ocuk stopped stocking the mionix stuff?

I used intellimouse right up until last month when the left button broke, ive used the intellimouse-icemat combo since it was released and probably would have carried on using it if it hadnt broke.

I switched to a logitec hyperion fury g402 mouse, gotta say i really like it. The one thing that was always the let down on the intellimice was the wheel sometimes had a mind of its own, and i dont get that with this logitec.
