iPlayer stuttering with Chrome

I watched the Formula 1 grand prix last night on iPlayer in Google Chrome and it would consistently stutter every 4 or 5 seconds. Then I loaded it in Internet Explorer and it was smooth as butter. Is there a particular plugin I need for Chrome to stop this or is it just an inherent problem with Chrome?

Have you tried the HTML5 version of iPlayer?
