Hi all,

My daughter is 4 on Halloween and decided that she wants a superhero party. Invites have gone out and it is for 2 hours in the afternoon. Only 8 kids in total.

Now, I need ideas for games, food, gifts etc that are superhero themed.

I'm already thinking of an evil genius pinata for them to destroy. You lot are a creative bunch so any ideas? Change existing party games maybe?

Thanks

Your daughter is awesome.

Pin the Cape on Superman,
Piñata is an awesome idea,
Stick 'em on a chair and have a "who can spin the most without falling over" contest,
Might be a bit advanced but see if you can print off some superhero masks then get them to describe the hero to the person wearing the mask for them to guess it,
Food wise... anything with sparklers.

At a party for 4 year olds? One kid will put on an Iron Man mask for example and the rest when asked to describe said superhero will just be like "it's Iron Man"

Hire these guys to come running in.

You should get whatever superhero costume you want sorted, then dress up in that. In the middle of the party have a friend burst in wearing a hockey mask and holding a chainsaw he starts revving. Then you tackle him/are the hero/etc .

Or do a Kick-Ass themed one where you send the kids home swearing profusely, etc.

Haha that sounds like an accident waiting to happen :D

If anyone suggests use of the evil substance known as 'glitter' you need to beat them senseless. Nothing cleans that stuff up.

Glitter is my nemesis, hate it with a passion!

Thanks for some of the suggestions. :p

Thinking of playing FREEZE (musical statues with superhero music).
Pizza has been requested for food because the daughter loves the Turtles.
Pin the cuffs on the bad guy / cape on superman.

Silly string bad guy firing range maybe.

As much as I'd love to go big with exploding squibs etc a) the wife would kill me and b) there are going to be some kids under 1 there so nothing too loud :)

My partners nephew had one in the summer for his 5th birthday.

His dad dressed as an evil villain and stole a present so they chased him round the garden with water pistols. I brought my giant super soaker along which took him by surprise.
They had a wall with POW!, ZAPP!! and stuff like that on it that they posed in front of (Polaroid required unless you want to print pictures constantly)
There was a piñata which we spent 3 days making and they destroyed in 2 minutes. (Tip: Use glossy magazines as they become indestructible)
Superhero statues: Musical statues but everyone had to pretend they were flying when the music stopped.

Other than that, all the kids (about 20) entertained themselves.

Invites that look like a suit which when opened reveal a superman top?

A city made from card for decorations?

Old comic pages used for decorations?

Superhero cake?

Marvel movies?

Pretty sure there is a lot of stuff that would be easy to do.

Frozen seems to be big in my daughters life... an Olaf pinata?

Nerf gun fights always go down well...

Bouncy castles come in interesting shapes and sizes nowadays, we got an assault course one last year and I timed them getting through it (everyone won something of course)

The missus did a "nail bar" thing that seemed popular - go figure... I tattooed half a dozen of them (stick on, not real) before the wife hit me and stated it was inappropriate for 5 year old girls...

Oh, agreed, glitter is satan's dandruff - avoid!!
