Do you Hire cleaners?

Certainly not, I was brought up to look after myself from a early age, cleaning, doing my washing was just normal why would I change now, so many lazy people about these days thinking there Romans getting fed grapes while they do nothing.

Suppose it's all relative, in all fairness I've never liked cleaning and would rather do something else with my time. Can't afford it at the moment but wouldn't hesitate if I had £1k+ to spare.

It's people who hire cleaners for say, 2 hours per week and the house is a dump, then expecting the cleaner to have the house immaculate in that time for £20?!

The same applies for people who stay in Hotels, leave the room like a bomb site...

Why would that make them lazy? They might be doing even more than you by redirecting their time. I hope you don't pay to have your car serviced. I was taught to fix things myself like a real man. I hope you built your own house, rather than be lazy and have the work already done for you like some lazy lord of the manor? :p

I manage just fine doing my house chores with working 13 days in a row then one day off then repeat, society is lazy these days I think, it's like I have a marine tank and people say why not get someone to do the maintenance on it lol.

Hmm, two hours house work on a Saturday or two hours out mountain biking with my kids?

Tough choice.

One of the great thing about having cleaners for me is that we make sure the house is pretty tidy Sunday evening for when the cleaners come on Monday, it's like a double win. We have a 4 bed house and pay £30 a week for two fantastic cleaners to come around for an hour and a half. We both work full time and have two young kids and having cleaners really works well for us.

Quite.

There is a difference between tidy and clean. I expect my cleaner to clean, not tidy. The house is always tidy.

I don't think it's a case of laziness and not being able to look after yourself, simply using up extra money to spend the free hours that you'll never get back to do things that you enjoy. Life is short, enjoy it while you can.

I don't see cleaning as a chore so it doesn't make sense to pay someone to do it for me. I certainly don't spend a solid 2hrs a week cleaning, simply clean up when there's a mess, 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there. A toilet, en suite and a bathroom take no more than 30 mins a week to keep clean.

Not sure what the amigafan hatred is for? Rules are rules, what's wrong with getting a student loan if you're eligible? Fair enough if he was taking the biscuit and doing it repeatedly but there are rules to stop you doing that...

It is probably a similar hatred to the BTL protestors. It is all legal and within the rules, but those on the wrong side of the rules choose to personalise and demonise people making choices within them because they don't agree.

One of the great aspects of living in the sub continent is that a 24/7 live in cleaner (separate quarters) is very affordable.

To put it in context, the lady that me and the wife have working for us, starts at 9am every morning and finishes at 6pm every evening. Seven days a week.....total cost? 60 notes a month (converted into GBP of course).

Aside from the necessity of having a cleaner in India (dust gets EVERYWHERE), it frees up a massive amount of time for me to spend time with the wife and the children.

It also means my wife can focus on the stuff she enjoys and not domestic chores.

How much mess do you make to require a cleaner for 9 hours every day!?
