Astronomers may have found Aliens

What if there really are aliens building things out there. But, they died off hundreds of years ago, and we are just glimpsing into their past??

Spoopy

Aren't we making the same mistake as seeing facial patterns from clumps of rock? How many natural explanations should we exclude prior to indicating they are alien structures?

What the heck is going on! Just last night I made a post making people aware of all huge increase in "alien" related propaganda stories.

And less than 24 hours later, there's a new headline saying we "may have found alien mega-structures"?

And if you still don't think we're being programmed by way of media bombardment; on the SAME page there's a headline link to a this gem: "Everyone thinks that Nasa is about to announce it has found aliens on Pluto".

Anyone else find it weird what they're trying to do here? The moment I realised exactly what is going on is when Edward Snowden, that CIA spy sent to infiltrate Russia, decided to say that encryption is stopping aliens from contacting earth. It's bizarre.

NASA is just trying to get a budget increase.

Personally I think the day we truely find life out there it will be hushed up so as not to cause panic.

Like the aliens in Area 51 right? :p

Plot twist - it's ancient humans building the ships they used to fly to Earth :O

Good plot for next alien movie, although would need to make sense I.e ships that were abandoned as the humans died there ;)

Mind you not sure why they would be harvesting another planet, maybe in collaboration? A big energy network across the universe :D

I think you're reaching too much with this :p

It just so happens to be coincidence is all. At our current place in time we have various space based missions going on, Pluto, Mars and the like. Many of these missions started years ago, it takes time for the data to be churned through, which is only just coming to.

That and the plethora of space films that have recently been released.

They are probably trying to "break it to us gently" rather than chucking out "hey look, we've met these aliens and they are living in new York".
Once people get used to the idea that there might be aliens then they can admit to everything....

Or not...

What probably happened was once they arrived on Earth they realised their advanced technology was what got their home planet destroyed, so they all disembarked then set their ships' auto-pilots to fly into the sun

After that, the passengers of each ship created the Egyptian, Babylonian and Inca civilizations.

Das it mane, das it. ;)

I'm not sure exactly how much I can elaborate before I have Edward Snowden's colleagues knocking on my door.

But I'll start by explaining the use of literary devices which inhibit the use of free thought in the reader.

Headline: "Everyone thinks that Nasa is about to announce it has found aliens on Pluto"

This is a very dangerous headline to use. It starts off with "Everyone thinks". Now two thirds of people have very limited free thought initially, when these people see something prefixed with "Everybody thinks" they will be inclined to think the same thing purely because they've been told "everybody" thinks that.

OK now. Imagine conversing with someone. When would someone use the phrase "Everyone thinks"? When someone is trying to get you to believe what they said is the norm, right?

An article on New Scientist seems to indicate this is actually a cloud of comets:

https://www.newscientist.com/articl...-catch-cloud-of-comets-orbiting-distant-star/

Panic over people, put your tin foil hats away until tomorrow...

It's mentioned in the Independent article the OP posted too
Boyajian, who oversees the Planet Hunters project, recently published a paper looking at all the possible natural explanations for the objects and found all of them wanting except one – that another star had pulled a string of comets close to KIC 8462852. But even this would involve an incredibly improbable coincidence.

Rationale tells me it is a comets or parts of a comet and not a giant spaceship.
