Online MOT History

I've spent a good half hour looking up old cars on that, brilliant!

My old DC5 went on to have a good life..

Reason(s) for failure
front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively Both o/s and n/s (8.2.2)
Advisory notice item(s)
Long travel on handbrake
Both front (o/s n/s) brake hose ferrules have slight corrosion
Various body areas have slight corrosion
rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened o/s and n/s (3.5.1i)
O/S/R brake binding
front Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement Both o/s and n/s (2.4.G.2)
Slight play in steering rack
Front coil springs corroded
nearside front Tyre worn close to the legal limit aprrox 2.7mm 215/45/17 87w (4.1.E.1)
offside front Tyre worn close to the legal limit aprrox 2.9mm 215/45/17 87w (4.1.E.1)
Catalytic convertor internals breaking up
Slight exhaust blow from rear section to middle section joint
Slight play on O/S/F shock absorber piston

Considering it's still a fairly sought after fairly expensive car (for what it is) it's been pretty neglected since i had it! Maybe i just dodged a bullet when i px'd it :D

whoever bought my e46 is obviously treating it well.....

Nearside Front Tyre has ply or cords exposed (4.1.D.1b)
Offside Front Tyre has ply or cords exposed (4.1.D.1b)

Same for my 335.

Unfortunately it's even worse for my beloved first E46 330i which I spent thousands on. EML light, airbag light, suspension issues, all tyres with no tread, ABS/ESP light on, corroded brake pipes, brake discs scored and pitted.

And its clearly owned by an idiot because most of the advisories such as EML, brake pipes and brake discs have been an advisory for 3 years.

Wish I could buy it back and restore it to its former glory. Poor thing, I loved that car and was damn near immaculate when I sold it.

Oh and its untaxed and uninsured so they probably scrapped it because it needed a new pair of brake discs and a sensor :( morons

Offside Front Lower Suspension arm has excessive play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.2)

Just checked my old 1 series, still going at 140k miles. Looks like they haven't changed the rear tyres since I flogged it as it's had advisories for them since

Can't find my old Jag though :S

My old Saxo which was sold years ago obviously has a cool owner now:

"Windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A' (8.3.1e)"

Sigh.... :D

My partners old Corsa also has this notice

My written off MKV GTi is somehow still alive. I actually recieved 5 summons for speeding becasue nobody registered it after me, despite me telling the DVLA it's been written off and the insurance company taking it.

Reason(s) for failure

Nearside Front Headlamp not working on main beam (1.7.5a)
Offside Front Headlamp not working on main beam (1.7.5a)

Nearside Front Body insecure and dangerous to other road users (6.1.B.1b)
Offside Front Body insecure and dangerous to other road users (6.1.B.1b)
Nearside Front Tyre has ply or cords exposed (4.1.D.1b)
Front Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (8.2.3)
Nearside Outer Front constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc (2.5.C.1a)
Offside Front Suspension arm has excessive play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.2)
Supplementary Restraint System warning lamp indicates a fault (5.4.2)

All this has been repaired since apparently.

Checked the M5, looks like it's only failed on tyres before. Range Rover a bit more interesting...Looks like it's had the air suspension done before..

Sold my old Clio in late 2011 having only failed one thing in 2007 (front hazard switch), and by September 2012 the car was a little worse for wear

Reason(s) for failure
Rear position lamp(s) has a product on the lens so it is not visible from a reasonable distance (1.1.A.3d)
Stop lamp has a product on the lens so it is not visible from a reasonable distance (1.2.1d)
Direction indicator has a product on the light source so it is not visible from a reasonable distance (1.4.A.2e)
Offside Rear fog lamp has a product on the light source so it is not visible from a reasonable distance (1.3.2d)
Rear reflector not red in colour (1.5.1d)
Windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A' (8.3.1e)
Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (8.2.3)

:eek::D

My old Saxo which was sold years ago obviously has a cool owner now:

"Windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A' (8.3.1e)"

Sigh.... :D

I've had my car fail on that exact code.

It was an air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror

My old ford focus 1.6 is still going!!

Appears to have many many advisories since I owned it however, barely any in my ownership. Sitting on 138k miles as of 31st March 2015.

Regretted getting rid of my trusty fiesta after I part exchanged it. Looking at the multiple years of failures, it seems I made the right move :)

nice one very handy i note this on last years mot fail

Front Brake pad(s) less than 1.5 mm thick (3.5.1g)

looks like my old pug is starting to rot

Advisory notice item(s)
nearside outer sill at rear corroded
