New GTX 960 Killing My Monitors

Hello,

I recently upgraded my graphics card to a GTX 960. It's been running my games a lot better and has great temps compared to my previous GPU.

Recently though, i've had a problem where monitors seem to stop working.

A few weeks ago not long after i upgraded when i unplugged the monitor for my Dad's PC and plugged it into mine, the computer would boot but would not progress past the windows logo and gave a message saying "no signal". When i plugged the monitor back into my Dad's PC i had the same problem.

I tried an older monitor and that seemed to work. I then assumed that the original(monitor 1) was broken so i bought a new one(monitor 2).

Today, i had the same problem with monitor 2 not working with either PC, and even tried monitor 1 with no luck. I realised that the problem could be the new GPU, so i removed it and plugged my old GPU back in, which works with both monitors and after switching PCs. Almost as if it helped snap the monitors out of a stupor.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be with this GPU and whether i have any options before sending it back?

My specs currently are,

Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70GHz
Motherboard - MSI X79A-GD45
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
RAM - 15 GB
PSU - 700w
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Did you try all the possible hdmi or dvi slots on the card in case one of them is faulty. Or just checking to see if anything has clocked it up. Update the motherboard bios also that did the trick for me though I didn't get it working at all until I did this.

I've only ever used a VGA cable with a DVI adapter, and there's only one DVI slot on the card. Never been supplied with HDMI cables before.

I'll see what i can do to update the motherboard.

I have had to update the motherboard bios on some of my PCs to get the GTX 960 to run.:)
