Nope.

Remember this scene?

You're misunderstanding what's happening. It isn't that fire doesn't stop them. It's that the pain from burning doesn't stop them because they don't feel pain.

Once they have burnt sufficiently to damage muscle, tendons and bone, then they will stop.

I've avoided this until I saw the show yesterday, really surprised at the dislike for B&W. It took me a couple of flashbacks to be sure that's what the B&W was for, but for it to ruin your enjoyment of the show seems rather odd to me.

Only one person has offered an alternative (everyone else just preferring to moan) which I personally would have found more annoying and confusing. We don't need to know how many days, just that it's a flash back is fine.

Agreed I thought the quarry was a great trap, don't ruin it, enhance it! But as someone else has pointed out, it wouldn't make for good TV.

I think we established long ago not to overthink this show. Just go back and watch season 1 again - the walkers are completely different (really aggressive and capable of getting around). You might say, well, that was at the start of the outbreak. Then go watch Fear the Walking Dead at the start, nope... :p

The walkers were actually pretty scary in season 1 - they have shifted the focus to be the fear from other humans now.

Anyway, I agree with the comments here, burn the quarry, problem solved. Build up the barriers at the entrance/exit, use it as a great way to keep walker numbers down.

I honestly don't see how they could have burned them all in a practical way without attracting attention in the surrounding area or using enormous resources like fuel which would be precious in post apocalyptic world. Herding was in the comics but was largely for swarms that appeared in the area and would make sense in that respect and patrols that they do vital not just for scavenging but security.

Saying that I would simply reinforce it at the bottom and dig a pit in the road at the top so even if the lorries fell the zombies would simply fall right back into the main body of the quarry. They can walk back up all they want but would simply fall right in again and continue their infinite loop.

Here's an article from The Atlantic out of all publications on the matter.

yet they used hundreds of cars ? :p

fuel in car somekind of flamethrower in pit.cooked zombies.

the put was the best place for them. they should have been dispatched there.

its all theory anyway.:p

It would have been much better to simply add a subtitle that said "Three days earlier" and have it in colour. It would have been much more tolerable to watch and in no way at all confusing.

Watching half of the episode in black and white honestly hurt my enjoyment of it. It's just so much harder to get into when it's like that.

Its been a classic way of telling 2 story's together
don't see a problem with it and wasn't confused
but then again I have been around long enough to remember B&W tv lol.

S6/EP2 was awesome

Disappointed, there was one element to this particular section of storyline I really really wanted to happen. Anyone who read the novels will know what I'm on about.
I know the storyline has dramatically changed anyway but damn it, it would have been good.

I think was a very brave dicision by the producers but it work well imo but i hope now the prequal to the plot has been told then that's it.

God i've missed this.. it's cast and chatracters puts Fear TWD to shame quite considerably.

Love the bit they walked and splattered in to the metal fencing wall :D

Season 6 off to a great start

Hoping Morgan kept that guy alive so Rick can have a play :) was a properly gory episode, more to come hopefully

Carol gets the job done lol. Enjoyed that episode.

Those wolves folk must have been high on crack to be getting on like that?

Weird way for them to get attacked, if Rick could hear the horn from last week, im sure he would have been able to get there pretty pronto to get him some Wolves actuion
