Nvidia plans to lock Game Ready drivers behind GeForce Experience registration

I don't see this being a massive issue I so amazed that everyone is up in arms about it ? yer it's an added program but I bet you won't ever notice a performance hit and it will help newb pic games and hopefully help the pic market and segment to grow

Well you see mate, this is the ocuk graphics sub forum. Anything that either vendor does gets picked to bits by each sides supporters. If one company does it its a great thing to some, not so great to non users of that company. You see it in any thread discussing any latest idea or venture. Bit pathetic tbh and it puts people off who might be looking for helpful advice on possible purchases.

What did AK being released as a complete mess have to do with Nvidia drivers?

Did I miss something and it was actually Nvidia that made the game and not Rocksteady?

It's not that complicated is it? They released a driver and pretended it gave performance enhancements for that game. Given the state of the game on release, it's clear that there was no attempt to enhance performance.

It's all about PR and giving the impression that they are on the ball. Ubisoft titles are another example.

I have tried it once didn't like any of the stuff so uninstalled it as I don't like have any software sitting there running so now if I want the lastest drivers I have to.
I don't enjoy being forced to do things for the lastest driver but saying that I very rarely update my driver anyhow.

It is getting pathetic some of the responses, lets look at two possible options

A) Open Chrome/Firefox etc, navigate to Nvidia site, go through the options to get to the driver section, download and install

B) Run GFE, update driver, Close GFE

And all those complaining about having to give an email address, First world issues eh.

Nvidia are under the impression people will stick with them no matter what they do to them.

Evidently nvidia are right about that, I know plenty of people who only buy nvidia regardless of price/performance. Nvidia will leverage this to the absolute max. Their marketing division must be very powerful, internally.

Great technology, no doubt. But there's always been something a bit apple/EA about nvidia, for me. Their ongoing slaughter of amd will be bad for us all I fear. £1,000 gpus and mandatory registration for drivers! Nooo!

It's a bad move because some will be put off by this but tbh I like GFE, I use it for shadowplay anyway so downloading a driver through it is no bother

Yes i'm annoyed too about this and really hope they don't do it. They should leave both options as they have now. I don't need GFE and have zero use for it and I don't understand why they would want professionals with their graphics cards to install game based software so they can get the latest drivers, very unprofessional.

Also I think we should be adding to this thread on Nvidia's own forums to stop this from happening.

You people do realise this is supposedly only going to effect the game ready drivers, the rubbish ones available on the games release day. The normal quarterly drivers will still be available through the website, as will all the betas I expect.

As I said earlier, the "game ready" drivers are nothing but PR pish. I wouldn't miss them.

Well I just tried out the latest Beta GFE and now has Youtube live streaming as well as Twitch. That is pretty awesome in truth and Nvidia have done well with this. I am sold.

Nvidia forums are censoring posts regarding this topic. They have removed one of my posts that was polite and stated that I don't like this new idea and clearly they are going threw these posts and nuking them to hide how bad it has upset it's customers.

This is coming from the country that states the right to free speech.. What a joke Nvidia has become now, it is pure damage control all the time now.

Disgusted with their behaviour at this moment in time and the endless lies they keep throwing at us customers.

This is what they censored and removed:-

Please leave the drivers alone and leave the option to download just the drivers from your support site.

GFE to me is nothing more than bloatware for my use, I do see how it can be useful to others but most of us here don't need it or even want it. I installed it once and removed it because it does nothing I require. "

Is there a Nvidia person on this forum to explain why this is happening ?
