Hi all,

Had to send back my Fury X, since it started to make loud noice when starting the PC for the last week. But if they decide there is not any fault on it then I most likely have to buy a new card, not been to happy having it like that and prefer one card over Xfire, which I am back to now again, using my old 290's for now.

I'm not particular fuss about ADM or Nvidia, have used both at one point or another and both does what I need. What I do need is one card that can run my Samsung 34'' 3440x1440 and two Dell 24'' 1920x1200 at the same time, even when playing games. Games is being played on the Samsung and the others just used for IM and similar apps. The Fury managed this just fine for me, since I can live without having everything maxed out when playing. :) Question is, seen it mentioned that new cards coming either Q1 or Q2 next year, and although there is always something New coming, should I wait or go for another Fury or a 980Ti ?? The Lighting one does look rather good.

Money not really a problem (but prefer not paying £1k for a card :p ) and I will at one point be buying Fallout 4 but probably not until next year. Right now, I guess Witcher 3 is the most graphic heavy game I have, unless counting heavily modded Skyrim or Fallout 3 games to be pushing the GFX card.

But that's enough rambling from me, basically just want some pros and cons as to what to look for. I rather trust you guys here, then trying to read reviews and get even more confused about the matter then I already am. :o You guys always been very helpful in the past to get my PC's the best hardware without costing half a fortune!! Part from the above, if the card is quiet and rather cool would be a benefit.

Thank you for reading and I appreciate any and all suggestions. :D

The 980Ti would be my choice.

If you're into overclocking then I'd consider the Lightning or Zotac AMP, which I think are the fastest versions, otherwise just grab one you like the look of / warranty, etc.

Very recently, I bought this one and I have been very pleased with it. It runs extremely cool and I can't hear it either - which is a little surprising as the default fan speed is 38% :

Thanks I actually have a 970 of that same brand on my 2nd PC, which working fine there so will have a look at their 980Ti.

Don't buy another card, If yours is faulty it needs to be replaced or refunded, Fullstop.

Was told if faulty I be getting a credit for the amount to either buy another card or anything else I would like for in their store, hence looking for possible alternative if that be the case. Thought better asking now then when I have the credit, so I can buy it stright away instead of waiting. Unless the advice is to wait for the new cards when they coming out. And if they consider it not faulty but still same as it been for me, then I have to buy another one anyway so basically need advice whoever it goes.

Fair enough, I just think that if they did say it isn't faulty yet you have a fault don't simply give up and buy another card. Take a video showing the problem, Show it too them and tell them that's not good enough and it needs to be fixed.
I imagine it won't come to that though, I hope you get something you are happy with instead, Good luck.

Thanks, I hope so too. The problem wasn't the graphics though, was the sound it making when starting it the first time, sounds way to loud as to what it done the last couple months, so a bit hard to take a video of it. Hopefully it be the same on their test rig. They said max 3 weeks so hopefully know sometimes next week if not earlier. :)

In the meantime, been looking at this one, EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Hybrid, although similar to the Fury, as in being an Hybrid. How is it compared to other 980Ti's ?? Anyone here that has one of them ?? Or would it be better to look at a normal 980Ti ??

those are might a little bit cheaper but with EVGA you have three years of direct customer support, direct RMA service, advanced RMA service and we do have a UK shipping address for RMA reasons also up soon + if you want to you can also extend the warranty. For RMA reason we do also accept issues like coil wine and for the Hybrid card we do offer at the moment a special promotion for a fancy fan shroud http://eu.evga.com/articles/00962/EVGA-HYBRID-Face-Off-Program/

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 980Ti Gaming 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G) £539.99
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980Ti G1 Gaming 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £539.99
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 980Ti "Hall of Fame 8 Pack Approved Edition" 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £539.99
Total : £1,629.56 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

Considering these are £90 less than the EVGA, still have excellent coolers I would look at one of those.
Thanks Stulid, appreciate these suggestions. Will have a look at them as well. =)

Well, those 3 Stulid recommended also have 3yr warranty on their cards. Do like the fact you accept Coil Whine as an issue though. :) .. I take it the same you mentioned also goes for EU countries, since I don't live in the UK any longer ?? Although, I do buy from OcUK still, since sometimes they are cheaper then shops over here. :)

I appreciate the comments so far !! Hopefully should find out next week what they come to for conclusions in regards to the Fury, got to say having the two R290's back in the machine is warming up my computer room fairly efficiently now. :p .. Ohh and in regards to that, the Hybrid I presume would give of less heat then a normal 980Ti ??

Prices changed on Wednesday (weekly offers go from Wednesday to Wednesday) so those three cards may not be so well priced now.

Edit,

Just looked and that white KFA2 is now even lower.

That looks great, probally a daft question, but will the UK shipping address also be for your PSU's and Motherboards etc?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,211.08
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Been looking at the Hybrid and might end up going for one of them, question is though, I never had a Inno3D item, does anyone know how their customer service is like ?? Description gives both the above a 3yr warranty. Looking at the specs seem the Inno3D is slightly faster out of the box, then again I not even sure if the difference in their Core Speed and Boost Clocks makes that much of a difference ?? So would really like some input if anyone could enlighten me. :o

Found this comparison if it is accurate.
Compare Inno3d 980Ti Black Hybrid and EVGA 980Ti Hybrid

Thanks so far for everyones inputs, much appreciated ! :)

I have an inno3d 780 and thankfully it's been perfect and never missed a beat and the build quality is awesome, But if we're choosing between those 2 cards I would have the evga one.

Yes, it will also be for our other products, specially PSUs as shipping for them is pretty expensive due to the weight...

It's a shame as I'd of jumped on an EVGA Fury Classified after seeing how nice my 780 Class was.

My last Inno3d was an 8700gt, In fact I still have it and I'm pretty sure it would work if I plugged it back in. I was thinking about trying it out a few weeks back too see if I could use it too earn the 3d mark Steam achievement for having a good cpu and a graphics card with no grunt (I was bored).
