Got (minorly) rear ended, other driver drove off but got his plate and mob no. What to do?

Sounds like typical north circular behaviour. Just polish the bumper out and report it to the police with the reg and mobile number. Maybe they'll follow it up, maybe not.

It always makes me laugh when people brake test/hit and run and they've either in a signwritten van or car with a phone number on. Retards.

very similar to what happened to me. got rear ended by an audi and I was driving a rav 4.
just like you 2 times tried to pull him over but he wasn't having any of it.
3rd time he got an arse full of bull bars, rav 4 cost 1 grand, dunno what the going price is on a 58 plate A4 its probably more I would have thought.

this time he gets out the car, and gets back in sharpish after a face full of fist and drives off leaving his bumper and exhaust backbox behind.

moral of the story is if u cause an accident stop and take responsibility.

My eyes

He probably thought you wasn't bothered or fussed so drove away? I would have signaled at him straight after collision to make some of intent to stop known.

Called the number, played dumb, asked to see the car, got a meeting tomorrow evening. Even managed to say I saw the car on the north circular on Friday without arousing suspicion!

Mentioned it to a friend in the police who's given me a kind of useful pointers, legislation and whatnot to use as ammunition should things get ugly. Still not entirely sure how I want to play this though.

Edit: no I'm not posting personal details here, though the car is taxed and motd. As far as I can tell its not advertised online.

Just see if you can get any pictures of his car (If it has scuffs with your paint on it!) to show to your insurers before you knock on his door. This might even give you some leverage.

Aye that is the intention. Gave it a wash today and there is a larger area of lighter scuffing that I didn't notice the first time round because of the dirt (bah). Only problem is that both cars are silver so its going to be hard to spot and traded paint :/

Look at it, See bumper marks, ask how those happened. Then tell him you know how it happened as it was your car he hit... And here is the bill. (Actually hand him a bill)

Take someone with you as backup, in case things get ugly. Just have them wait in the car.

Or pay £60 or whatever it would cost to fix, and post his mobile number on 4chan as revenge :D

Went to the meet, the guy admitted to being on the north circular at the right time, remembered the initial accident that was causing the traffic flat out denied any involvement with me, didn't recognise my car and didn't admit to seeing anyone trying to pull him over. I even said all I'm really after was an aknowledgement and an apology as opposed to shoving bills under his nose, but ended up in a bit of a stalemate.

His cars front bumper was a bit of a mess, blatantly been in a few scrapes. He was more than happy for me to take it up with the police, think I might call his bluff...

My sister in law works in the local nursery and came out of her work to find her 02 plate focus damaged.
she went back in and checked the camera's and discovered one of the parents had reversed into her car. got out inspected her own car then drove off.
she proceeded to confront the parent and when she did firstly she denied it.
Gill explained that she had been seen on camera and then the parent then remembers the little bump she had.. she tells Gill " ohh I just thought youre car was an old banger and didint worry about it" needles to say after that comment my brother and Gill decided to go through the insurance. originally they would have been happy to sort it out between them but the lass was just that stuck up
