Is this currently a problem for anyone else?

I live around a large block of estates in Kennington, South London, by the Oval cricket ground. Been here for about a year now and not really had much bother.

However now it's seemingly easy to obtain fireworks a number of kids (mostly teens I assume) have gone around terrorising roads letting off all manner of stuff. I was walking home Friday night from cricket practice, turn left onto my road to be met with about 8 kids on bikes letting off stuff on the road followed by one guy on foot blasting God's know what anywhere. Somehow managed to sprint off with my stuff in tow but it's absolutely terrifying, I can imagine it's only worse when there's lots of younger kids around and pets who must find it rather distressing.

Thankfully the tenants associated have an open meeting tomorrow to discuss the said matter with local police, councillors etc. What they'll do, who knows.

not much you can do - though going forward there will be less of an issue as rent rises in inner London and caps on housing benefits will push the chav class further out

bring on the gentrification :D

It was bad in Hyde park last year, kids were letting all sorts of fireworks off all over the place.

I don't mean just letting off fireworks either, they were throwing bangers at people walking past and the likes.

Buy your own supply and show them how it's supposed to be done!

But yeah had this in my area only one injury of a pleb holding onto it for too long to show how brave he was.

It's a problem where I play football in Poplar. Had a few kids aim them at the football pitch!

I used to live very close to that area a few years back, moved after getting robbed. Too many cretins with nothing better to do around the estates. But you always get kids like this every generation has them it is nothing new. Just keep safe and move along.

I live in Streatham Hill now, a vast difference.

Had that last year, ref called the game off, was winning aswell.

Op its london do you think kids are ganna be nice and hold on i let you walk past, but what ever you do dont let them know where you live, as they will be doing through your letterbox.

we live pretty rural in a small village so we don't get much problems like this. all the local kids are known by everyone and you tend to find they wont get up to nonsense as they know you'll know there folks.
but where I lived before here was pretty ruthless.. we had a local gang of young ones that were setting fireworks off through folks letter boxes just for fun!!
thankfully it never happened to us but I know a few that it did happen to.

Some Cctv, attempted involuntary manslaughter, a few years to reflect.

Easy.
