Gigabyte GTX950 Xtreme Gaming Review.

Great review + pics Stulid :) Handy little card, just depends on the price now though. Be good to see some benchmarks comparing to AMD's equivalent.

Ah you noticed the pics :)

I bought a Nikon D3200 in the summer to step up the quality a lot from the Canon Ixus95 "point+click" I was using before.

The only issue is the card is around £140 which places it quite close to a GTX960 or R9 380(and they have been around that price too).

Very true, I've just had a scout at the 960's and didn't realise they were so cheap

£130 for a reference 960, it's a no brainer really.

The card does not compromise gaming in anyway, the games do not look like lego bricks and far from it in fact.

No ones kissing butt and to be honest I don't like that tone of voice.

The GFX settings are clear to see and nothing is dishonest.

Now move on.
So as long as a game doesn't look like legos, it not a 'compromised' experience? So you're saying a multiplatform game running on XB1 isn't compromised in any way?

Sorry you dont like the tone of voice. I dont like reviews giving out misleading information to consumers. You said people wouldn't have to turn down settings or anything and that's just plain BS. Outright lying in fact, since you even show settings that have been turned down.

Be more honest in the future instead of acting like a shill. Guessing you got the product for free to review, yea?

Nice write up Stulid.

I hear that Nvidia have enabled SLI on these cards, would love to see how a pair stack up.

A pair of these would get a 2nd hand 980? think I would prefer that.

I like the new Gigabyte Shroud, is that just for this card or an update to the line?

I have no idea, it is a plastic shroud by the way.

Yes its free and I dont claim otherwise.

The settings used are there to see in the review.

without having to reduce quality settings and compromising the gaming experience.

This is true as the card performs well and I'm sure the other 950s will do the same if you match clock speeds.

I have been honest but you don't seem to be able to read or comprehend this.

So stop trying to slice the one sentence up to suit your own agenda and do not respond any further to my thread.

Stunning looking card, great write up and review Stulid. Thank you for time and effort put into this. I personally would love this card for a small low powered build.

Regarding this card I think it's a decent one if it comes in well below the 960. Seeing as Giga has basically dressed mutton as lamb I can see it being priced too high initially.

Stulid does good reviews always very informative and impartial.

Haters gonna hate, but don't go to far.

I'm a bit bemused by this "new" 60fps limit / target, since when has it been such an issue?

I ask as when I had a single GTX 580 (which the 950 appears to better in performance, VRAM and power consumption) I could run GTA V at high settings comfortably without issue as it didn't drop below 40fps on my rig, the second card I added later bumps this up to and over 60fps most of the time but I can't honestly say the game plays more smoothly given the higher frame rate, not at all!

Anyway, nice review Stu of what appears to be a good budget card although a second hand GTX 580 1.5 / 3Gb for less than half the price strikes me as a better buy so long as you've got a decent PSU.....
