Dumb, inconsiderate Britain plunges to new depths

Google Maps shows it better, this is the view when you have to decide whether to 'commit' to the tunnel or not. (The direction the old man was coming from):-

Visibility is not great because of the slight bend and due to the fact we drive on the left.

I've been through that tunnel hundreds of times and it does happen every so often that someone decides that even thought your 3/4 of the way through, that you should be the one to reverse and they can't wait 5 seconds. The other issue is that at peak times, if you are the one with priority, cars will start flowing through from the other side and you can end up there for ages before someone takes notice of the give way sign.

Sounds like the council need to install a small set of traffic lights at each end that are in sync.

So as usual the reasonable majority lose out (by being delayed by traffic lights when there's nothing coming the other way) because a pair of semi-morons couldn't work out how to resolve the Mexican stand-off

A BMW driver no less - tsk tsk.

Are these sort of stand offs a new thing then? I never heard of anyone being so dumb and inconsiderate before I started the OP, and since then this is the third case

Surely there's laws against obstructing emergency services like this?

The previous one was sad enough but this is unbelievable. Even to go as far as to lodge a complaint about the paramedics choice of words.

Er, from what I see, the BMW driver was all the way through the tunnel. Why would he be the one required to reverse back through?

Tried to google map the tunnel but cant find it...

Assume its here https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...2!3m1!1s0x48758ff2e611338f:0x7f395672abde0d07

While I can kind of see his point if he had got to the point where he was its also a bit of a tricky one for the delivery driver as he'd have just pulled a large vehicle off another road - no excuse for not getting out the way for emergency services however.

Lol! What good are laws if they aren't enforced...

Maybe, but did this actually obstruct the emergency services?

I don't think there is a law about potentially obstructing emergency services.

I wasn't there and having only watched the video I can't imagine why the paramedics would bother arguing with him unless they were obstructed.

No idea what was wrong with the person in care but if it were time critical then it's potentially made things much worse.
