Survival on an island with a Harley Davidson

Just run the motor for a while, any passing ship within a 4000 mile radius will hear it, get increasingly annoyed at the stupidly loud exhaust, change course and mow you down :p

Or sit on the beach every night with the headlight pointing at the sky sending out SOS until the battery depletes. Some aliens are bound to come and take you away. :p

Throw it into the sea and survive like a real man.

Maybe catch some fish off the decaying heap of ill built, over expensive, pile of useless engineering turd that is meant to be a motorcycle. This is after I deficated all over it for a week or so.

(i would drain all the liquids, to save my new meals getting toxins)

I would work out a way of making an outboard motor for the raft or boat I would somehow make too. Then get the hell out of there.

it isn't a whole lot of use to you once you've settled down into a routine - you've basically got a nice seat and potentially a light + means of generating electricity for the light

if you're initially unable to light a fire then the fuel is useful. The alternator can generate electricity, sure, but the only thing you've got to power is a light

once you've built your shelter, found sources of water, food etc... you'll probably want to simply light a fire and go to sleep when it gets dark and wake up when it is light ergo the light is of limited use but maybe a nice to have thing

if you were trying to escape the island then the engine and tool kit might well be useful but apparently you're not trying to escape

one of the most useful things to have is a knife - I guess if you don't have a knife then maybe you could fashion a crude one from some metallic part of the bike

My favorites so far are

Water wheel for alternator to charge battery = light + radio entertainment.
Fuel tank in 1/2 for cooking pots
Other metal parts sharpened for weapons for hunting.
Wiring loom for cable / rope / fishing

Fun ones are

Chainsaw ;) Love this
Outboard motor, practical.
Massage chair :D:D

No love for the fire breathing T-rex?! :(

First thing that came to mind was using the coil and battery to make a spark gap radio transmitter to send out a SOS to get rescued.

I don't think i would want to wait a year :).

between 12-18 litres.

tyres are tubeless though remember so not great at floating when off the rim :p

brake fluid and oil and fork oil (but i not sure you could unscrew them but you could break them open to get the oil) also burn nicely

Except the drain all the fuel out of cars/bikes before putting them on the ship, leaving only just enough for manoeuvres.

So in fact you've got a litre or less if you're lucky.:p
