Does this mean I'm a secret royal?

In here and out there.
Whilst checking over my birth certificate I noticed a difference to other peoples certificates that I'd seen in the past.
As far as I am aware a citizens certificate has a royal seal in the middle, however mine has a bit more.

To the left of the seal is a crowned lion and to the right is a unicorn, below is the motto "DIEU ET MON DROIT"

I reckon I should pack my bags and head on down to London. :)

Mine looks exactly the same.

BTW if you don't already have one - get the long form version sent to you (there is a site online that does it) as the short form one is no longer adequate for ID purposes, etc. for most things.

Cheers Rrof, what I was after, now to take it down again.

Difference might be due to most people having the long form version - your one looks like the short form like my original one is.

'TalkTalk is following you' :D

In South Africa we had bridged and unbridged birth certificates. So I'm guessing you found the latter of this countries equivalent

depends when it was issued.

some people can't have a full one because the full ones didn't exist when they were born

DIEU ET MON DROIT is the monarchs motto.
Birth certificates are nothing more than certificates for registration of property to the crown, so of course they put their motto on it.
That is their proof that your ass belongs to them.
