After a round of benching my cards VRM2 is running at 77C, dispite the card now being idle for around 10 minutes. It's been like that since boot, tried running fans at 100% but it hasn't changed at all.

GPU-Z is report VRM2 at 77C and so is Hwinfo64, MSI Afterburner however is showing all temps to be normal. Am i right in assuming that GPU-Z and Hwinfo64 are probably reading bad data?

What version of afterburner are you using? I cant monitor VRM temps.

I'd normally say trust GPU-Z but if its stuck at 77 and not moving at all I'd say the sensor has gone faulty and theres nothing you can do.

Afterburner can only read VRM 1

Cranking fan speed up didn't make it change at all. It stays at 77C. Jammed or dodgy sensor? I really hope it's not actually at 77C.

I'm on 4.1.1.

I have a few 290x Lightnings. Ignore VRM2, it's not real.

For ex. my VRM2 is stuck at 47c, it never moves. Idle VRM1 is 29c. I run furmark and it goes up to 43c, yet VRM2 is still at 47c ie. it doesn't move. Thus ignore it.

If your at idle and VRM temp is high and not budging then i wouldn't worry about it especially if your VRM 1 temp is quite low. Looks like a bugged sensor to me.
