Can't find section for this kind of thread, sorry..but looking for a good gaming chair, since I study in I.T and game alotttt!

Links appreciated to good chairs, with good supporting the back etc.
and value for money as well. thanks

Overclockers sell chairs.

and then there's the steal case leap off ebay that everyone yarks on about

And then theres the last suggestions that others will mention which are the price of a house for a chair

Don't buy a "gaming" chair; it's just a marketing gimmick. Just get yourself a proper office type chair. You'll find most probably have better support than a "gaming" chair would.

They're all pretty much same price, office chairs cost a lot, and the design of the gaming chairs i tried at comic con were so comfortable

Looks pretty nice, but idk why the gaming chairs look more comfortable haha

Ever sat in one :D?

There are a lot of threads about chairs on this forum. The general consensus is usually either one of the really expensive £400-£1,000 options from Herman Miller, the IKEA MARKUS, or something cheap as a stop-gap :)

My personal opinion. I had a really nice office style chair that I got from Staples about 7 years ago that had seen better days. I started to get a lot of lower back pain because of the foam wearing down and also sitting in it a lot more.

I went with the AK Racing series and although it may be expensive for what it is, it is one of the best investments I have made comfort wise. I haven't tried any of the office chairs in the same price range as the AK Racing but for me, it is exactly what I wanted. Comfort, lower back support, great height adjust and a full incline. I can lie all the way back in the chair.

Sat in one over weekend at comic con, even had the arm rest adjustments..but it was heaven cant remember make

If you have lots of cash to spend - Herman Miller
If you want a great chair that will be comfortable and last - Steelcase Leap
If you want a decent chair that some people whinge about - IKEA Markus
If you want a nice looking chair that will do - Gaming Chair

I have no complaints about my Markus. Used it for 5 years now. Will probably get a Steelcase Leap refurb from an auction site next as it will cost about the same as a Markus.

This sums it up well enough, I've got a DX Racer atm and I'll stick with that until it breaks then I'll get a Leap or Miller.

I spend ~£30 every couple of years on a cheap office chair. They all seem to fit me really well, so much so I can't see the point in spending lots on one. I've never sat in a good chair though so perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about...

I picked up an Arozzi Enzo few days ago and other than being a bit of a nightmare to assemble I quite like it - the lower back support atleast for me is in the right place and the right firmness overall very comfortable. The only real problem with the cheaper ones like this is that they aren't always the most durable over time.

Gaming chairs are very hit and miss though especially at the upper end you can easily pay the same price for a gaming chair that is actually nothing special other than looking flashy that the same money would get you a decent, more durable, office chair with better comfort/support features but then you get some gaming chairs that include those kind of features as well.

Big vote for the dx racer, i have an aeron as well but not gone near it since getting this

From personal experiences and research it depends on how long you sit on it a day and your body shape (height/weight etc).
I'm often 12 hours a day in mine unfortunately and 6'0 and 14st.

I'm an IKEA Markus 'whinger' - for the length of time I was sat in the chair, it did start causing some leg circulation problems and i'd been sat in it a few weeks and had enough. For a few hours a day though it was great. I donated it my brother who only uses it for short gaming bursts of a few hours and it's been great for him.

I've since changed to a steelcase leap v2 and those issues went away and i've been very comfortable since and would recommend this chair. 5 months in it now (2nd hand refurb) and it's been great.
