Nothing wrong with that :D I came across this T-Shirt the other day - very tempted to order

Haha, I totally need that. We have a gym dork at work who eats endless eggs and chicken and goes to the gym twice a day and still never ceases to be amazed at how much cake I can pile into my face and still stay in reasonable shape.

I use a specialized Romin expert 143mm version as the bike fitter suggested I get that, I got one, and its amazing

See I think that's the sort of geometry I want to try out (thinking some 'individual side flex' might help on longer rides to stop some chaffing - the main reason I'd ended up looking at Fizik was their 'wings' tech) but I'm also conscious of every-day 'commuting comfort', which is why I also thing a relaxed/scooped middle might be the way forwards. I'm not ideally after a 'race' saddle for performance gains...

The look of it is important as well - one of the reasons I'd semi decided on Fizik. Because y'know all the pro's use them so we should be too (you know I like my loud colours/decals) ;)

I guess as we've previously discussed - a saddle is a very personal thing and I'm better to try them out rather than reading this and that online (as per usual I'm over-researching the whole thing!)

Any recommendations for a cheap waterproof rucksack? Like £50 or so? I came across the Alpkit Gourdon dry sack which is just £25 which looks like an absolute bargain.

Are you after waterproof (like most) or totally immersive (like the drysack Paul linked)?

I'm using a Deuter Bike One, it's fantastic and I've never had any wet contents (been using it nearly 2 years). Don't see them on Wiggle currently but there are plenty of others, I think several here use the Alpine? Lots of rucksacks have a 'rain cover', My Deuter does and I generally use it 99% the time as it's also high viz.

DHB do a range of rucksacks I thought I read were ok, there is even a 25L Waterproof one under your budget.

Shop by capacity - decide what you require and then add at least 5L, maybe more. Empty space 'just in case', doesn't add weight! ;)

all the reviews I've read (I bought the saddle long before reading any reviews) are all true

the bike came with the Toupe one, and it was good, but this romin with the cut out makes it a lot lot better, so glad I bought one

I want something waterproof enough that I'm confident putting a grand worth of work laptop in there

Ah, I would suggest looking more towards a laptop specific one rather than just a waterproof rucksack...! Mine only carries clothing & food!

May see if my LBS have one I can borrow, they fitted me with Specialized Body Geometry so I'd be very surprised if not. But then I'm almost resigning myself to buying it from them at retail... ;)

problem is, the price is set everywhere on those (I've looked recently as I want another one for my 2nd bike)

if you do buy one, make sure its the 2016 model or the cheaper 2015 model
don't get a second hand one or a past year ones as there is a fault with them (as I took mine back)

EDIT //

This is the one I have

Lowe Alpine make very good bags

http://lowealpine.com/uk/shop/mens/everyday

you can get a waterproof cover from them from rainforest etc

You can easily get covers, the HUMP covers are great quality (got one for the mrs).

Thanks for the heads up!

Edit: first dark & damp commute home this autumn, although looks like the rain has stopped still plenty of water around!

My jacket is killing me, I may as well wear a 5p shopping bag, the 2 little air holes would give me more ventilation!

Recommendations for a new Jacket for Autumn/Winter/Spring? Abitrary budget is £100, though I'd stretch to more if it's totes worth it.

Requirements:

1) Waterproof (or very water resistant)
2) breathable. no more boil-in-the-bag!
3) good visibility. I love the look of the proviz 360, but I tried one on and the fit is awful. Reflective bits and not black will do!
4) Warm but not too warm :p

It calculates from the speed sensor, as it has no way to read resistance from the trainer - my garmin could read 18mph but on screen it'll be doing 5mph as it's up a hill...

Zwift doesn't use resistance, it calculates the power from speed/cadence sensors to calculate against your HR (and I believe age & weight) to come up with a 'virtual' power (zpower) which determines your progression on screen. The progression through the course/track determines the resistance and measures your power output against it to determine your progression.

It doesn't need to measure resistance as that is a known power curve for your trainer (if you use the specified resistance setting). Cadence isn't required at all, neither is heart rate and your on screen speed is a calculation using your calculated power, weight and current gradient on the course.

I was going to suggest the Rapha (as I think a lot here either use them or recommend them)

but then I saw you want reflective

what you could do is get a softshell and then get one of the Altura Night Vision Jackets for over the top (poss the EVO?)

What do we think of patterned bar tape? I'm thinking of getting some black and blue for my pompino.

I've got this:

and I love it :p

Just did a couple of Richmond Park laps in the dark. It was really quite dark! :D

I think I need to get a light with more range though... 5m or so in front was fine but suddenly seeing deer eyes light up at the side of the road was a little unsettling!
