Microsoft re-issues controversial Windows 10 patch KB 3035583

And more besides. Perhaps it's because I'm on a z77 motherboard, which is getting old now. But win10 is full of bugs for me. Clean install, naturally.

Even from downloading Intel's drivers? I'm surprised to see ASRock is supporting Windows 10 with their Z77 series.

Win10 has many issues for me that Win7 doesn't/didn't have. I'm sticking with 10 because I know 7's days are numbered, but still.

Amongst the improvements there are tons of bugs with 10. Major bugs, like...

Not being able to shut down or restart (some service or other frequently becomes a zombie).

Not being able to wake my monitor out of standby (have to disable sleep for my monitor completely).

Programs failing to launch (when this happens just have to leave the machine for 5 mins and all the stuff I tried to launch starts together).

USB devices suddenly stop working. Unplug/replug sorts it.

I'm finding (though granted some of my installs are quite old preview builds that have been patched over and over - but not all are) that my installs get progressively more buggy with time - fresh installs work fairly well for a bit but after awhile increasingly the start menu doesn't behave properly or randomly runs incredibly slow, applications start refusing to start or taking a very long time to start, etc. an old laptop I've been testing it on due to having a single core atom now takes an incredibly long time to start windows - fresh install sorted it for awhile but after about 2 weeks it starts doing the same thing again.

For some reason it seems to be worse on the installs tied to a live account - those with local user accounts seem to last longer.

I'm certainly in no hurry to move my main machine away from Windows 7 which simply does everything I need better than 10 does - which is kind of a shame as the start menu in 10 conceptually would **** all over the one in 7 if it had been implemented with a little more imagination and vision but is just lacking the flexibility and/or configuration options to be what it should be.

Yeah using Intel drivers where there are any. There aren't any for USB3, etc.

The only other thing I can do is reinstall and leave the default Windows drivers active.

Also I'm using a live account with Windows. Might have to try a local one as per Rroff.

But the bugs have been frequent enough for me to consider going back to 7. Free or not, I'll take stability and working devices over DX12 and a ton of bugs.

Using a local account doesn't fix it - just seems the local accounts take longer to start playing up (though that might be due to using them less often dunno).

The majority of all your problems I have too I'm backing up my PC tomorrow and reverting back to 8 fed up with bugs and the OS not working as it should and loads of games not running right

I've found upgrading to Win 10 pretty painless and the prompts didn't annoy me. I find it more annoying now that you can only postpone an update for 15 minutes and then your PC restarts automatically. Pretty inconvenient when you're running local VM servers or doing some lengthy processing work, I imagine it would even more annoying if you were running a presentation or client demo (thankfully I don't live that life anymore).

I have a copy of my medical reports, including my scans and xrays from an accident that I had in 2012.
I get all these reports in the very same way, and they will not run under 8.x or 10, but they are fine with 7 and below.

I have of course tried the compatibility options, but they dont make the blindest bit of difference.

So, because of this, I have no choice, but to make sure, that I have at least one PC that stays with Windows 7.

There are legitimate reasons to need to stay on Windows 7.

Of course, there is alos the simple fact, that Windows 7's visuals are just bloody amazing, the boring bland windows etc on 8 and over, are simply awful, and visually, I very much prefer to use Windows 7 over anything else.

That said, my main PC is running 8.1 and my main Laptop I have upped to 10 just to give it a long test, and in both cases, I am very happy with them, so aint I the hypocrite?

I do also have the entire Stardock suite of junk, and I use ModernMix with Win8 ( Win 10 thankfully means that is no longer needed ) and Window blinds does help me somewhat towards the Win7 look, however, I have not bothered with that for some time now either.

According to my MEP MS are being looked in to again.
1-for using peoples internet with out their consent
2-By using the system above. MS are falsifying the true numbers which been downloaded with the users consent.

Another few $100mil going to the EU?
