Advise me a good r9 390

You would be better with a gtx 970, far superior hardware from Nvidia.
Once you have had Nvidia in your system, there is no going back.

Hi.
Place in s340 case 334mm-364mm.
Quiet,not hot,not power hungry,good performance/overclockable.
Some reviews saying different things.
Thinking between MSI and POWERCOLOR.,bcs NITRO and XFX looks like not very good according reviews. But may be i am wrong - so asking your advice.
some reviews :

MSI 390 has a great cooler. I'm using the MSI 390X and I'm very happy with temperatures, noise and performance. Cracking cards :)

Do you really need to post the same comment in every gpu thread?

Op msi or sapphire r9 390 are the best.

Just trying to steer the OP away from inferior hardware.
Don't shoot the messenger.
Sorry, if you were talking about other Nvidia cards you might at least have a case...but specifically for the 970...nope.

Nvidia butchered the memory bus and memory for it, when they should have keep it exactly the same as the 980.

But as always, Nvidia feel that they cannot give "too much" for the mid to mid-high range cards for the end-user, for the sake of making the higher teir cards looks better and justifying their price premium.

Am I right in thinking a 390X and 390 are the same just lower clock speed? Obviously the lower clocks will use less power. But for £20 difference (if you buy in the next 10mins obviously). you can de-clock the X so it draws less power? Then when you want performance over caring for power consumption turn it back into a X.

He's just a troll, check his post history.

Regarding the question, I think MSI 390 is very good. I've also heard good things about the Powercolor cooler on the 390.

No the 390 has 2560 stream units, the 390X has 2816, and again 160 vs 176 TMUs.
The 390 is the cut down version of the chip. The speed fifference is very small tho, so the 390 is the better deal.

Well, the gap between the two isn't massive but if you're not too fussed about dropping another 20 quid on top then you might as well grab the 390X.

Disagree, I went from sli 670s that ran hot and gave me loads of trouble to a power cooler 390 and have been delighted with the results.

Glad that you are happy with your purchase.
However the problems you had will have been caused by having two cards. Not a fan of multi card setup's, be that sli or cross fire.

Tnx for reccomendations.

1)GTX 970 -I am thinkig is a good card, but only for NOW,for the games available now.In nearest future could be problems = not enough VRAM,DX 12 (as well maybe need more VRAM for DX12 bcs gpu/cpu will work more effectively looks like).

2)Sapphire 3x very long.
NITRO looks like havent good reviews compare to other cards.

3)MSI i read that one of the most POWER HUNGRY and HOT card (between r9 390).

As well my PSU EVGA 650 G2 - hope enough.SOme sites reccomend 750 Wat,but many calculators and sites says ,that 650 Watt more than enough.ANd i have 2x NF- A14 PWM fans - most powerfull ,that i found :)

SOme ppl say ,that r9 390 the same like r9 290 or een take better r9 280x.But all this cards have the same price, and even now r9 390 is cheaper than the others :)
Maybe i could think about r9 290/280x - but can not find good prices :)

The 390 is better than the 290/280x and if there the same price go 390

290x will be more powerful but is older tech.

Forget the calculator and recommendations. Go by the amperage on the 12v rail, of which your PSU has easily enough for a 390x.

1) the 970 is only worth thinking about at the same price and if you prefer its features,

2) the tri x is long but if you can fit it, it is one of the best coolers.

3) ignore the power hungry bit. It may run cooler as the MSI coolers have been lacking compared to some of the other brands recently on the R9 range but power consumption is much more down to how lucky you are with the chip and almost nothing to do with the brand. Heat does not significantly affect power consumption unless there is a very large gap in temperature, for which there wont be comparing two air coolers and certainly not to the point where it will be too much for the PSU.
