**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

First things first. Changed the dpi to 400 so I now have 6 columns of icons and everything makes better use of the high resolution screen.

Don't know of any Android phone that has the ability to change DPI out of the box. Aways required root and editing the build.prop.

When it says charging rapidly on the 6p, is this the nexus equivalent of qc 2.0?

I'm using an anker 5in1 usb charger, should only be 2w

Using the supplied charger it charges stupidly quick. It seems to be around 1%/minute, maybe more depending on what you're at when you plug it in.

Are they better then the stock camera app in auto mode ? I'm not really a manual camera type of user

No, only really useful if you want manual controls.

Stock camera with touch to focus and HDR+ should be fine for most people, white balance settings would be nice though!

The only thing that really gets stored on my phone are photos/video (more so photos) taken with the camera, I don't watch media on my phone, don't play games and I'm not much of a music person either so storage is really a non-issue for me.

On my nexus 5 16GB, I have over 400 photos/videos and still have about 5GB left.

Argh! Not sure whether to get this, the moto x style or a galaxy s6. The 6P seems very similar spec wise to the galaxy, but prefer vanilla Android. The moto is cheaper but lacking things like fingerprint sensor. So the 6P seems to tick all the boxes.

Thise ordering the 32GB, what sort of things are you storing on it? Are you relying on Cloud services heavily?

I'm like Nexus above. Just the photo's and video's I take really. They backup instantly to both Google Photo's and OneDrive, so if I ever start to run low, I simply delete old video.

I use Camera FV-5 which on patch notes seems to work with RAW on nexus 6p and 5x use it on my OPO along with stock camera app...depends on what I am taking.

I agree with this. I have a 16gb Nexus 5 and I have plenty of space. I use Google photos which frees up plenty of storage. The 32gb version of the N6P is more than enough. Can't see the point in watching movies on tiny screen so I'll never have to worry about storing them. All I'll need to store are music and apps.

So I now have/ordered : a case, 2 types of screen protector, USB C cables, a USB C OTG cable and some headphones. But I haven't even ordered the phone yet :-/ It's not helping that the G4 I ordered for my girlfriend has arrived and it's a crackling bit of kit, it makes my old Note 3 feel ancient.

Just curious, what phones are people coming from and is anyone else worried about the size?

My 6P will be replacing a HTC One M7 which I have absolutely loved using (sad considering it's only a phone :D). I was a little worried about the size of the 6P until I received the Orzly flex case.

Yes, it is big, but not as big as I thought it would have been - if that makes sense? Obviously, I'm basing this on the size of the case, as I'm still waiting for Mr Parcelforce to deliver today.....

All of them can be without root.

adb shell wm density DPI
Reboot

Done

Was running 400 on my Note 4 and have just tried a few with the 6P. 420 seems about right for the screen.

560 is the default for the 6P by the way.

Finally made my mind up and ordered 32gb graphite last night from Google and it was dispatched this morning. Is it next day delivery or am I gonna be waiting a couple of days? Burn In was concerning me as I use TomTom Go on my phone all the time, but I paid the extra for Google so I can just (hopefully) get it replaced if it gets bad.

Right, more issues with CPW. I ordered from GPS last night as they had it back in stock, so called up CPW today to cancel my order, to then be told am I sure as it will be in store tomorrow for collection...Now i've cancelled my GPS order going to get it in writing that it will be in store tomorrow other wise another complaint!

I got mine on monday. 32GB aluminium and man i can tell you this is a wonderful device.

Isn't too big i think, just the right size for me. Loving having an AMOLED panel finally!!!! Coming from a One M8 and the battery, camera and display blow it out of the water :)
