My gpu is the zotac 980ti amp and i can't run it with the case on due to temps which sucks.

Was going to get a new case and watercool my new cpu on black friday sales.

You think its worth changing and selling my other card, or keeping it for sli as it probably wont run as hot if its the second card?

Kraken G10 + Corsair H55 will knock about 40-50C temps off get that & fit to your current card.

Wait what. You can't run it because of the case? Are you sure? What temperature are you actually getting?

Buy a decent case! You probably could live with a decent case for a life time! And have at least a good three generations of upgrades in a good case. You don't need to upgrade a good case.

with the side panel on the card reaches 83c

Has anyone actually read this reply? Yes it's a touch warmer than one would hope but unless it's actually throttling that doesn't sound too bad.

You could also just set up a custom fan curve and run the fans a little bit faster which will probably bring it back down as well.

Jumping to suggestions of replacing the cooler or buying a new case without even establishing if the card is throttling is rather gung ho.

@OP, have you actually checked if it is throttling? If it isn't just enjoy the product and stop worrying. If it is, what % are your fans going upto? If there only in the 50% region try pushing them to 75%, there such quiet cards you might not notice the difference but have cooler temps.

there are 3 AIO coolers for gpus that i know of.

kraken g10 - ugliest by far.
corsair hg980 - very nice and should fit your gpu.
evga hybrid - very nice but not sure if its fits anything other than evga.

i think they all need an actual h55 or h60 or h80 to be purchased separately though.

EVGA one fits reference design cards. Dont know if the Zotac has a different PCB.

Firstly why did you buy a case named after a band member in West Life?

Secondly 83c is nothing to worry about with these cards, it's probably slightly higher than normal but then that could be down to your West Life case's airflow or fan profile.

Thirdly you can hybrid your card as other people have suggested. Someone has done the Amp Extreme
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=28354858&postcount=5343

and I am sure that on OCN that people have done it to the regular amp edition just double check you have a heatsink of the VRM modules incase you need to buy some but you should be okay I think.

edit - you're fine

I'd start of by adding a 1 for 1 fan profile, So that every time it hits a certain temp the fans go up by that ie: 50 degrees give it a 50 % fan speed, 60 degree's warrant's 60 % and so on.
I got stuck with a 94 degree MSI TF 290x gaming and that was how I kept it tamed. I imagine such a fan profile will do the job for Zotac's 980ti AMP without putting you out in any way.
Try that before spending money or doing anything that may or may not affect the warranty.
