What do you reckon to Halo Belts?

I have been looking at these too as all of my gear is black apart from the gloves and would be interested to see other people's opinions on them.

Yup, same, mostly black here (not that colour helps much anyway in pitch dark). It'd be something extra that would stand out over the standard rear light, so would hopefully draw people's attention more, especially as it would be green/blue which you don't often see coming from a bike/car.

I would be weary of displaying such colours 360degress.

Red to the rear only sure, showing red to the front? Nuh uh....not a great idea....practically or lawfully. As for any other colour.....

Hmm, yeah, just had a look

No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which is capable of showing a red light to the front,

No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which is capable of showing any light to the rear, other than a red light,

( one of the exceptions: amber light from a direction indicator or side marker lamp )

No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which automatically emits a flashing light,

No vehicle, other than an emergency vehicle, shall be fitted with-
(a) a blue warning beacon or special warning lamp, or
(b) a device which resembles a blue warning beacon or a special warning lamp, whether the same is in working order or not.

There goes that then :p

So as you say, red to the back would be fine, legally, maybe.

You're not fitting it to the vehicle so maybe it could be an exemption.
I quite like the idea but as above red to the front wouldn't be good. Blue could be fun lol.

Hmm, possibly.

Rule 86, "you could wear a light": https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/rules-for-motorcyclists-83-to-88

I reckon green would be ok. As long as they have no reason to believe you're wanting to look like police/ambulance and not red of course.

Edit: reading elsewhere, apparently there are no restrictions on what you can have on your body.

20 consecutive hours apparently, but I think those were the originals that weren't chargeable. New ones are chargeable via USB and I'd assume similar/better battery life.

lol :D just quoting a review I read, it's because they then went on to mention non-consecutive as 70+ hours, so made sense in the review I guess :p

Funnily enough I was just thinking about buying something like this the other day, wasn't sure it'd be worth it or not but with me commuting to work at 6pm I'd like to increase my visibility a bit. I've got reflector stickers on the back of my helmet and I've ordered a cheap hi-vis brace, plus I always forget that my top box increases my visibility too so hopefully that'll be enough.

Please please make these look like Tron... take my monies!

At one point I was seriously considering doing this.
