Which Ultrawide Curved Monitor?

I have a 980ti, looking to get a 1440p ~34inch ultrawide curved monitor for gaming and possibly photo editing. I have a dell u2410 that I will hold onto.

Typical games I will be playing are

New Call of Duty
Star wars battlefront
Fallout 4
Witcher 3
Diablo 3
Dying Light

I have a preference to play with max settings, so I'm coming round to the idea that FPS will never be higher enough for 144hz gaming to make sense.

So I've started to look at all the ultra-wide curved monitors available.

Acer 34x Predator - 100hz, IPS, 4ms
Samsung S34E790CNS - 60hz, VA 8-bit, 4ms, baby got BLACK
LG 34UC97 - 60hz, IPS, 4ms
Dell U3415W - 60hz, IPS, 8/5ms

Any thoughts, recommendations? cheers

sadly none are perfect but i dont think you will go far wrong with any of those choices really,
i fancy the acer myself although i own the samsung at the mo and no complaints about it

even though i said 'possibly' - I do a LOT of photo editing I just wasn't sure about curved monitor for it. So I'm thinking IPS > VA for my photo editing, should I find it works fine.

I think my choice narrows down to LG34UC97 if I want something I can get delivered tomorrow.

cant say about the curve as ive never done photo editing but i think your on the right track with ips so probably down to the LG34UC97 or dell u3415w

cheers, yea I ordered the Dell - only because I found more conclusive evidence the colour accuracy would be better - might not be true, but it was enough :) plus I already have another Dell monitor.

Next day delivery with Overclockers will get it tomorrow! woo

Report back your findings...I'm still in two minds wether I'm keeping my Dell U34

Why would you not?

Cause I'm a drama queen...

The Dell is stunning but I feel I'm missing a dual monitor setup. I maybe need to get used to it.

You'll love it gaming on it is amazing...until you've gamed UW you've not lived !

Interested to hear how you get on dan. I used to have a U2410 myself (perfect screen other than the amount of heat coming out of it) I remember running it in the same room as two GTX 480's. After about 20 minutes of BF it was like sitting in a sauna :o

I need a new monitor myself and I'm thinking about going for an ultrawide curved.

The only thing that puts me off is the potential back light bleed. Seems to be a hit or a miss in getting a good one when the back light on the U2410 was perfect every time.

I was looking for a super wide curved monitor in some where between 29" and 34". After looking at reviews and such I came to the conclusion that a standard flat monitor was the best choice. All the curved ones seem to have at least one area that lets them down.

a few straight out the box photos :)

Temporary setup at home in my newly carpeted study, just made a desk out of a worktop offcut and piano stand.

Ok I noticed a problem, when running in response mode fast, in Diablo 3 - when you are moving the monsters look like they have clarity turned up on high. It's not good.
