asus 970 - 2 options?

Is the difference between these two simply the size? Which one would be quieter? I'm guessing the bigger one but I would appreciate some expert advice

You would only buy the small one for a small case. Other wise the Strix is better all round.

Strix I imagine will be the better card being a full size job, quieter and should oc better with the improved cooling.

Also the strix fans don't spin up until the card hits a certain temp, the mini, don't know for sure, but presuming the fan is on all the time.

Does it have to be Asus?

The GB WF and MSI Gaming are a popular choice round these parts and both are cheaper.

My personal preference is the 970 G1 Gigabyte.

I wanted asus for the no fan spinning thing. Do those two do that too?

The gaming does the no fan spinning thing@idle, idk about the GB.
