Nearest airport to Stafford that offers flights to Berlin?

Birmingham (BHX) is the most obvious answer from Stafford. I've flown to Belfast and Dinard from there. However, Skyscanner insists that I change at Amsterdam (AMS) wtf?!

Googled for other airports. Wolverhampton wasn't on the drop-down. Coventry was, but didn't offer flights to Berlin.

Any suggestions? I'm sight impaired, not road-legal and would need a station-to-airport connection. BHX was handy for that because it was the same building as the station and NEC. Flights aren't until May 2016, so not urgent. Maybe I expected too much, but am a tad disappointed that the 2nd capital of the UK cannot facilitate the capital of Germany.

It has to be Berlin btw, because that's where I'm staying for 4 nights.

You can fly direct to Berlin from Birmingham - Flybe operate daily. You may be finding they've just not released the schedules yet.

The other obvious one is Manchester, Easyjet serve Berlin from there.

Ahhhh thanks Fox! I do have an account with Flybe as I used them for the Belfast trip. Yes, turns out their planner on their site doesn't go as far as May yet. I tried some dummy dates in Feb though and got quoted £107 with hull luggage which is very affordable for me. It might be I'll just need to book in the New Year to get the May dates. Thanks again.

With a shorthaul route like this there is no real need to book many months in advance, so you'll be fine waiting until next year.

If you fancy something a bit different fares with DB by train start at 79 euro each way from London - Eurostar to Brussels, Thalys to Cologne and ICE to Berlin.

Takes a tad longer though
