Until Dawn

I've just finished it and I thought it was absolutely excellent. Probably one too many jump scares for me, but you can tell it's designed for that as you're basically playing all cast members from Saw / Cabin in the Woods, but with some different elements thrown in that I won't spoil for anyone who hasn't played it.

Thoroughly recommended for anyone who owns a PS4 and hasn't played it!

I was going to send it straight back to Boomerang, but I fancy another play through. I got one of my fave characters killed. :(

Finished it the other day, thought it was brilliant for what it was. I'm slowly trying to get all the trophies now, should be easy but just takes time. Might as well to see all the different outcomes.

I sent mine straight back but I think I'll be renting it again in the future. Really need to play through Heavy Rain again :)

Completely agree, sleeper hit this was for me.
Also got a bunch killed, often realising I made a mistake as soon as I made the choice :p
 
Finally finished this today!

Must admit before release i was really down on this game, thought it looked pretty weak and didnt expect it to review well etc. However i was wrong, its a good game.

Certainly not amazing but it held my interest and i enjoyed my playthrough. I wouldnt go as far to say that i would want to replay it to make other choices and that because i doubt it really changes a great deal and my playthrough was my story with the game

Few tech issues like balls frame rate in places and pretty sluggish controls but i got over this after an hour or so and just enjoyed the story! Nice graphics, characters get better as the game moves on. Hated most of them at the start.
 
I have been playing this most of the day and I love it, the cinematic scenes, the suspense and the immersion are all top notch and had me hooked. The only reason I stopped playing was because my controller died. Guessed the main twist straight away.

Oh and my God has the person that deals with scanning and rendering all those tight jeans and Lycra on those ladies has the best job... Ever...

Yep lol not a bad gig that!

I agree mostly, did find some of the jump scares to be a bit too much in quantity and some of them were quite cheap!

I also guessed it too but a choice i made threw me off the scent a bit.
 
I just finished this tonight and it has been one of the most memorable, and indeed the most frightening gaming experiences I have had in a long while and I thought the story was excellent.

I actually thought the game had just about ended when Josh was revealed and then thought it was winding down to a close but then holy crap, the **** got real! The Wendigos were genuinely scary and VERY well realised and animated, and I was gripped and tense all the way to the end.

It has to be said the engine is ****ing awesome, achingly beautiful, and this is the most movie-like experience I have ever had in a game, it was simply surreal at times.

You owe it to yourself to play this game, and preferably with a friend. Just be prepared to kick yourself for the choices you make... :D

8.5/10 for me.

Your thoughts read like a 10/10 ;)

What were its downfalls for you? I agree it looks gorgeous, but its a shame the ps4 couldnt handle it a bit better as it got quite choppy at times

I will replay one day! A sleeper hit for sure, didnt expect much when i heard it was originally a ps3 move game. That put me right off at the start!

Just watched Mr Robot which stars Joshs' actor, hes great in that too

When you have been a gamer since 1990 and have played the games that truly shaped gaming history, 10/10 is kinda hard to come by. ;)

Choppiness didn't bother me once, think I noticed it in 1 or 2 cutcenes but it didn't affect any moment of gameplay that I noted.

Downsides were moments of pacing and US teen cheesiness at the start that had me mildly sighing like the true Brit I am. The fact no-one moves at more than a casual walk unless being chased. Also of course it's not a "truly" interactive game... what you can really do is limited.

However, if you accept those things as part of the game design and allow yourself to be dragged in to the story then I can't see how you can fail to enjoy it as it just gets better and better.

I seriously enjoyed it. :)

Finished this a few weeks ago, bloody brilliant game. Really enjoyed it's kind of original approach and the way you can make different choices which lead to differing outcomes.

I agree the cheesiness was awful :D and how old are they? All concerned about there parents at points which i found odd
