Hi All, i am literally caught in three minds.

1. Evga 980ti Classified

2. Zotac Amp Extreme (Put off by make/ Coil whine)

3. Gigabyte G1 ( Again Coil whine )

I understand you can just buy normal ones and over clock, but id rather straight out of the box performance.

Any help would be most grateful.

I'm not sure if this helps or just adds to the confusion, but I'm using the Asus Strix. This is fairly quiet and boosts to a constant 1404Mhz on everything I've tried it on so far. Temps range from 65-71 degrees.

Amp Extreme: unstable fan speeds.
G1: high risk of coil whine. I guess at least, mine had it.
Classified: the cooler is not that efficient.

I think it would be worth it to spend a bit more for the Lightning(if it comes back at 599£), it seems is the complete package (even the Strix is ruined by the annoying blinking logo).

I'm not sure if its slightly more common with the Gigabyte cards but I've got two G1's and neither have any coil whine, and they are built very well.

Only issue I have with mine is that beyond 50% fan speed they get a bit noisy, 75%+ and its just obnoxious even from under my desk. Other side is that under 50% and its very quiet if not silent and the cooler does work well.

I want to order today, but after my Asus swift issues, id rather not put money into that company again.

leaning towards the Classified.

Hmmm Yellow lol but i can see your point.

Coil whine can also be caused by PSUs.
I am using a Evga 750 G2

id get the EVGA hybrid. £599 on OCUK, the classifed is £569. Spend the extra £30 and get the addition of cool temps and great EVGA warranty.

Regarding my swift, runs perfectly. Had some flies in the screen after the harvest. left window open. Anyway, They replaced it at my door and been running for months without a single issue.

I posted this yesterday,

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,621.07
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Those 3 are all epic and come with substantial coolers.

Gigabyte has the best support followed by EVGA, the MSI well I haven't seen the rep since the fan oil fiasco.

They are on offer or similarly priced.

Currently awaiting RMA, i love the panel just gutted, it has these grainy lines on black backgrounds almost liek a filter. This is from a person who came from an IPS.

Not sure.. on the Hybrid. Had a 295x2 before and the pump and leads looked a mess.

Ahh ok. Never used an IPS so cant compare but it is a very nice TN panel, one of the best ive used. I dont see any grainy lines on mine so yeah I would RMA too if its that bad.

If you dont like the pipes etc id be tempted for any of those other 3 being they are all at a good price. But as others have stated they all each have different problems. Gigabyte is loudest, known for its coil whine, cools best. EVGA cools well and good warranty. MSI ive owned and cooled well and was pretty silent, but cannot say what their warranty is like.

Thank you mate.

I am having buyers twitch. either way it will be one of them today.

The offers end Wednesday.

You have a good PSU.

You can always use the 14day DSR if you are not happy with your purchase, considering the reviews the Gigabyte G1 gets try that one.

Dont forget to check the lengths vs what your case can accept.

I had a dell 27 Ips. The difference is huge in colours. But saying that I was dreading this ips to TN. But the panel as long as your straight on is great. But the 144hz and gsync you can't compare, the trade off is worth it.

I am leaning towards the Evga more and more.

So the only gripe on the classified is cooling is not as good as the others, no moans of whine ? better Warranty?

I nearly pulled the trigger on the G1 earlier, just worried about coil whine.

I would probably go with EVGA, based on the peace of mind if things go wrong. I would have got the EVGA hybrid but they were in very short supply at first.

The G1 cooler is a beast (three large fans, lots of metal, lots of surface area, heatpipes, yadda yadda), "if" you get coil whine then DSR it back.

Should something more dramatic happen then you not only have OcUK to help but the rep is active and seems helpful.

G1 looks amazing has amazing reviews but coil whine is everywhere in comments of most review sites. (So Putting me off)

Same for Zotac, i was gonna buy for performance. But I can count this out seeing people with fan issues plus coil whine.

You my man have been unreal, thank you so much for helping me and pointing things out Very very helpful.

Either way as you can see i am new hear used the forums a lot, but purchased from elsewhere. Not after the month i had with a rival, I just so happened to be looking on various things on the forums and seen OCUK stepping in and helping there buyers. That for me is huge.

I built a PC for a friend last weekend with a Zotac AMP+EVGA G2, no coil whine on that one.

Again its PSU quality and individual card that does it, if something sells in larger numbers than something else then you will always get more comments and people are also more likely to complain than signing its praises.

This Evga 750 g2 has had the following. (No Whine)

970 sli G1
295x2
980 ti SC
fury x

The G2 are made by Superflower, so explains why they are rather good and they actually look better value for money than their own Superflower counter part, even the warranty is longer with EVGA.
