Has anyone heard of a release date for the DisplayPort 1.2a to HDMI 2.0 adapter?

Club3D were supposed to have one coming out by now.

Looks like they're delayed.

edit: there is one but only 4:2:0

not gonna link in case it's seen as a competitor link, plus it's USA

Some more information please with an ETA if possible. They must also support 4k at 60hz. Plenty that support 4k at 30hz around.

nope i have an email from a supplier with some stuff I thought these will probably sell ok especially at the price.

So I was just in the process of setting them up.

Main info I can find on the product is

Output : HDMI High Speed up to 4k x 2k
Active adapter
Bandwidth: 10.2Gbps
3D Support
Audio support
Supports HDCP v1.3
Plug n Play
Supports AMD/ATI Eyefinity
20cm built-in lead

4 sku's

Mini DP ver1.2 - HDMI
Mini DP ver1.2 - DVI-D
DP ver1.2 - HDMI
DP ver1.2 - DVI-D

Will look into them a bit more to see if they support 4k @ 30 or 60

regardless I'm setting them up they'll be under a tenner

If they don't i'll get onto startech or Cables 2 GO but stock is hard to find and often stupidly expensive.

I'll grab one as long as it's 4k 60hz. It does sound a tad cheap though. What is the price likely to be for top quality ones?

Wouldn't it be good news if come Christmas Fiji owners had 4k @ 60hz, New software and new drivers giving some extra performance :)

and will these cables be ok for freesync/gsync?

No DP only for gsync/freesync but you won't need a DP adapter if you have a gsync monitor.

I'm going to guess they are 30hz becuase the startech ones at £25 are only 30 Hz

Haven't these type of cables always been around £70? I remember back when eyefinity launched you needed the active DP -> DVI and that's what they cost.

Yep I had to buy one of those startech dp to dual link dvi adaptors to get 120hz from a 7970 lightning, iirc it cost me around £75 from ocuk and didn't work particularly well. In the end I used the single link ports and cru to manually get 120hz out of it :p

I was specifically talking about the 60Hz ones that AMDmatt was banging on about as an excuse of why the fury line doesn't have HDMI 2.0. I can use 30Hz as is with my 4K tv. I want 60Hz...

That's what we're waiting on. I thought a tenner sounded a bit cheap.

I don't think anyone cares about 30HZ or 4:2:0 adapters.

If they exist one of the guys in caseking should be able to help if he can't source them then we're stuck but if Club3d are responsible for them i'm pretty sure I can get them.

Can someone link me to AMD matts thread so i can speak to caseking about them.

This is probably the biggest legitimate failing of AMD, weren't they promising this in the 290x2 days? so effectively, this has been "coming" for at least 2 years.

I have no use for hdmi 2.0 and I am very much an AMD fan but I would never recommend them to anyone that needed a feature that they promised was on the way after seeing how this has been handled by them. They just should have said "we have no plans to support that feature in this generation" and not have implied that support would be coming from 3rd parties. A very similar thing with the Fury/Nano voltage overclocking, relying on 3rd parties yet speaking of support with utter certainty.

I hope they learn from this mentality and conduct themselves better in future.
