TVR are back... and sold out for 2017... You happy about them being back?

Surpsied at people saying it's a toekn gesture and it won't be TVR, why won't it be? Just because the engines are not TVR built (a lot of people said they never should've been), this is no different to the earlier TVR's where they took Land Rover engines and used them.

For me, as long as the look and feel is there and sheer performance, I can't wait.

I think if they can manage to retain their design with regards to the interior and exterior but replace the mechanicals/electricals with proven parts and not try to build their own they could be on to a winner. I.e. the engine, why re-invent the wheel when you can get pretty good crate motors? (Although the engine in the Speed 6 was something to behold and looked awesome. :))

Can't say I am pleased or not that they are back, never particularly liked TVR's in the first place.

Mate has a 280S (or something like it, Ford 2.8i Essex V6 based plastic thing :p) same mechanical bits as his Capri 2.8i except the Capri is reliable (despite being 33 years old!) where the TVR isn't.

True story - I went ice skating in one of the old TVR buildings last Thursday.

I used to live 10 mins walk from the factory.

I was across the road from the old factory earlier today, it still just the same externally.

Cool :-)

TBH, I know a lot of past owners, and for them it's the experience as well as the sheer power of the things... so yeah we all know they're not the best made, reliable etc etc etc... however, people still love them.

However, in this day and age, they'll be made better that's for a fact, and then, will people say they've lost their identity as they're now well made and don't feel the same. No win situ to me.
