**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

Mines in a North West Parcelface van somewhere at the moment. So it looks like Google made good on the Nov 3-5th estimate. The overall preorder situation is still a clusterduck though and some explanation could have been given for the way things have been handled since nothing has been learnt from previous Nexus launches.

Got to drop the gf off to the train station in London at around 2pm so on the way back I might as well pop into a 3 store to sort out a sim before legging it home.

You can buy amp tester dongles from Amazon, about £15 as per the google guy linked in his G+ post. Or just wait for his review or someone else who also has the same testing dongle :D

ugh, more cash then :( :p

i think im just going to risk the cheapo cables :D and complain to LG (5x) when my phone goes ass up :D

This is the exact plan I'm on. I went into the 3 store last weekend, got a nano sim to replace my micro and she gave me an adaptor to use in my Onplus One (micro) while I wait for the new phone. Old sim deactivated within ten minutes, swapped it for the nano + adaptor and carry on as normal. Now will just drop the nano into the 6P and jobs a good un. :)
D

I have a very sharp pair of scissors I am putting my faith in today.

I'm not aiming this at you in particular, but the way people have managed to heap scorn on google for this launch and yet still get their device in their estimated shipping period is fairly comical. It's as if as customers we are given too much information, with being told when our order is "pre-ordered" then "pending" then "processing" then "shipping", and being able to compare that with the status of other people's orders and getting angry when it doesn't seem to be going as quick as it could.... all before the actually delivery date has even arrived!

Fair play a small minority of people didn't get theirs within the delivery estimate, but people blasting google for a lack of communication, then still getting their phone in the original estimated time-frame is pretty laughable. You had plenty of communication, possibly too much!

I would disagree with this. At least for me, what caused the annoyance was mainly a) An estimated ship date on Google Play account, which was missed (on this point, perhaps you're right and it's a case of too much information); and b) CS who couldn't give an answer to queries regarding it.

If people who started getting concerned contacted CS and were told 'yes, you will get it within the estimated delivery date' or 'you should, but at the most it'll be a day off', I don't think people would have been particularly annoyed. What caused the issue for me was CS who just said 'Yea, it's delayed. Can't tell you when until'. So people had pretty valid reasons to be peeved imo and this was also exacerbated by stories of others whose orders were progressing.

Oh, and "Loaded to vehicle for delivery" :D

Wow. The guy at 3 I spoke to on the phone was being very sly then. He was saying I cannot stay on that plan and have 4G as it's an old plan, and they wanted me to upgrade to £17 for the new plan. They also wanted £5 to send a new SIM out. Told them to stick it and will try my luck in a local three store.

"Hello, can I have a PAC code as I want to move to EE." over the phone got me a reduction to a £12pm contract and a free nano-sim.

There's always two sides to that story.

There are still a lot of folk stuck on Processing expecting their phone to arrive today. They clearly won't get it in time. Then there's the whole situation between FIFO on orders yet again. Why should two friends of mine who ordered 128GB devices just last week jump the queue over Day1 customers and immediately get shipping notices inside what I beleive was 24hrs?

People preorder to get their devices on time and whilst the majority including myself on this channel seem to be getting theirs on time, there are still folks stuck in processing limbo who will not. Their Day1 efforts are meaningless and customer service staff and their lack of information will just add to their pain.

As I've said elsewhere on this thread, I have cancelled a Nexus 5 and 6 in the past because Google and their partners couldn't even get a device to me on the stated date.

Really? I've had 4G on this plan since it was available. I did phone them and they also said its a fiver if you want us to send a new one out, he actually said best to go to the shop instead.

The girl in the shop didn't question it, gave me the new sim, I needed to show my drivers licence but that was it, I was in and out in 5-10 mins.

All this said, I'm very tempted to move to EE as their 4G network is far faster and bigger (had a PayGo sim for a month from them) and tbh I don't use more than 2GB a month. Bit of a price jump though, but Three is getting slower and slower here (just outside of London)

Yeah I've been tempted to go to EE also myself. Not sure what the BT buyout will cause though. I use ~7GB per month, so I might as well get an AYCE plan.

Agreed with this. And it's the reaosn many got annoyed at Google for fobbing them off.

Okay, it shipped and will be delivered within the estimated dates, but it did not ship by the "leaves factory by" date, nor did the email confirmation come through which the Google rep promised it would - And then being told by later Google reps that there is a delay and the reason was "unforeseen production issues".

So with all that considered, buyers who ordered several weeks ago had every right to get annoyed.

Yeah it's messed up. I've been very luck in that I'm getting mine 10 days earlier than the date stated. Must be really annoying for those that ordered on day 1 that haven't got theirs yet.

Starting to have second thoughts about my color choice, went with silver so it didn't show scratches but since it will be living in a case anyway that wouldn't be a problem. What might irritate me though is a big silver circle on the back of my black case where the fingerprint sensor is.

For those who upgraded from a Nexus 5 how are they finding the 6P? How good is the battery life in comparison to it? Also how does the camera hold up for family snaps and video?

The LG G4 is such good value at the moment but for some reason want stock Android as had it since my move to Android with the Nexus 5.

I ordered 29th sept, had delivery date 3-5th November on a 128gb and still in pending so im defiantly not getting mine on time. spoken to CS who said I would get an email with a new shipping date ( which I didn't) and another who helpfully told me, your order has not progressed yet, no **** I can work that out. still no idea when its coming, all thy say is we are working hard to get it out

I dont understand how google can put together a seemingly (not perfect) EIS algorithm for Youtube videos, but can't implement a half decent EIS for the 6P?
