Having read around this - and considering the hassle to create a win7 EEFI book USB dongle from my Winn 7 DVD, I think that I am going to install win 7 in legacy mode onto my 240GB SSD (which doesn't need GPT format).

Can anybody persuade me otherwise!

Mel

You should install Win 7 in UEFI mode, you will notice faster boot, sleep and wake from sleep than in legacy mode.

On my Linx 10 tablet with 32GB eMMC used GPT by default with Windows 8.1 preinstalled a year ago when I bought tablet.

Well I prepared a UEFI bootable USB drive from my Win 7 DVD using "Rufus" - quite easy.

I "think" that I set up the UEFI Bios and installed Win 7

It has a 100MB "efi" partition - does that mean its done the job?

Thanks, Mel

Rufus is awesome :)

Sounds like it. But I seem to remember Windows 7 not supporting uefi boot properly when I was boot camping a Mac Pro a while back onto a raided volume.
