Black Ops III: 12 GB RAM and GTX 980 Ti Not Enough

You have to consider that it uses 4.5GB when there's (presumably) 6GB/8GB available. It doesn't mean it NEEDS 4.5GB, My Fury X's run it fine. Well, I say fine - it runs just as well on Extra as it does High and Medium - it runs fairly badly whatever settings tbh, just doesn't feel smooth :/

You'll have to downgrade :p

R9 390 8GB ftw :P

Absolutely.

Remember those users who were posting the other week that 8GB will 'never' be used as it will lower performance too much? Guess what, you were wrong.

For example:

In essence, assuming Crossfire is working well and whoever is going to run 4 cards and very high resolutions, I would tell them to grab the 390s every day but for one GPU, that extra VRAM is pointless.

970 and 980 owners with 4GB will struggle to run this game with the best textures enabled.

They sure will from what you are saying and those people who bought a Fury or Fury X should have saved money and bought the 390 8GB :o

But in essence, nobody kicked up a fuss when COD:AW was the exact same and I can't see anybody kicking up a fuss with this...Unless they have an agenda.

An hour, so you completed it then? ;)

Not that short is it? lol

Looks at crossfire 390's in my case and thinks to myself what a good move from 7950 crossfire. Timed just right and a steal for the price and performance. :)

Thinking of selling my TX if cowadoody is the only series to use the 12GB.

Also when did Treyarch become the "good" dev? After IW imploded?

That's the reason I didn't buy a Fury X - too little VRAM IMO. I'll jump on the HBM2 bandwagon when it rolls out next year, until then my 390X will tie me over.

Well yes, it does need 4.5GB. I literally cannot run Extra textures on my GTX970 without massive stuttering. I turn it down to High and everything is entirely smooth(along with some other effects turned down or off).

I hear there's memory leak. My Titan X goes to 10 vram use. That's nuts!!
Dont think it's a leak, it's just one of those games that'll use what's there. Not uncommon.

Couldn't care less about this gash game but yay for using lots of Vram. *Hugs TX*
I wouldn't be bothered by it if there was a worthwhile payoff. But the textures dont seem to justify their cost at all.

I think the larger video memory pools on consoles are leading some devs to take shortcuts with memory optimization. Battlefront has better looking textures at less cost.

Haha :) It will be all those peasant, but uber pro gamers, using 19" screens, so their eyes are not all over the place on a huge screen, wiping the floor with kill ratio's on FPS games against the casual gamers with 27"+ screens lol. :o :(

more likely small laptop users :D

Is this game for real?

13GB ram breached @1440
