What emergency kits do you keep in your car?

So, after this morning and realising what I was missing in my car, I've decided I'm going to buy a few items:
  • 12v Tyre Pump
  • Emergency Foam Kit
  • Tyre Wrench

I'm someone who likes to be prepared and I'm also looking at an emergency kit which has the basic first aid supplies, warning triangle, fire extinguisher & hi-vis but not sure how much I need to get or indeed what exactly.

What do you have?

I have a tyre inflator, can of tyre gunk and a wheel wrench too, always handy to have.

Car has a warning triangle clipped into the boot lid as standard but as I drive abroad reasonably often I also carry a couple of high vis jackets and a spare bulb kit which has already come in handy when a bulb blew while driving in Germany. For only a few quid it was worthwhile.

I also carry a small bag of tools around in the boot with things like a torch, pliers, cable ties, snips, a few screwdrivers etc. It's come in handy for doing things when I've been at various places, but it's not really been of any use in a car-related emergency :) Though a torch is always a good thing to have.

Hi-vis thing (kept in for foreign travels mainly)
Decent torch (rechargeable in car)
Wheel brace & jack (somewhat pointless given lack of spare wheel now I think about it...)
Basic first aid kit
Warning triangle
Small fire extinguisher

Portable battery pack for charging phone? May need to ensure it's charged every few weeks, don't know how well they hold their charge.

Blanket, Bottle of water, some long life food.

Fold up shovel (for snow during winter)

Apart from the stuff that came with the car (first aid kit, triangle, tools) I put in:
  • fluorescent tabbard
  • bag of coins
  • booster cables
  • tow rope
  • small LED zoom/flood torch
  • bunch of disposable gloves.
  • 12v tyre inflation unit
  • tyre repair kit
because of my job, I also have telecopic ladders which may be useful for getting out of a sinkhole:D

Shovel
Thermal Tent
SOS watch
Swiss Army Knife
Freeze dried food
Filter to drink water from streams

Well, you can't be too prepared

:p

Is that in case you break down near the penny arcades!

Mobile Phone, RCA Breakdown Card.

If the **** really hits the fan i would have to resort to pressing the VW SOS button, which i can only assume deploys some sort of helicopter based tactical recovery squad.

I have:
An AA winter pack (torch, folding shovel, tub of rock salt, tow rope, emergency mylar blanket, snow/ice slip-ons for your shoes). A rip off at the standard price, but not too bad value when they discount them.
Original space saver
Standard Honda wobbly jack (made from kit kat wrappers I think).
Standard wheel brace
Basic tool set: combination spanners, screwdrivers, basic 3/8" socket set, pliers etc.
Multimeter.

Whatever comes with the spare wheel and there's a flashlight from the last camping trip knocking about somewhere in the boot.

Bring on the zombie apocalypse.

Bunch of tools, water, an old jacket and oil/antifreeze

I should get a first aid kit in there at some point

BMW factory toolkit and first aid kit. AA membership card and a phone charger. Dont bother with anything else, its not as if I'm in the wilderness here in the UK. I think its easy for people to got a bit survival crazy sometimes. Mind you a fold up shovel is one thing I do need with winter coming.

Tool kit that came with the bike, RAC number and my phone charger fitted to the bike.
Hasn't failed me yet!
